  1. Pretty simple. IF your top choice turns you down, you ask your 2nd choice. So on and so forth. Or just go the Eichorst route and ask your 10th choice right out of the gate.

  2. (Sorry this is long and rambling but lots in my head) I think we have to give MR another year.. HAVE to... as long as he fires Langsdorf and most likely Reggie Davis and maybe Cav. And trust me, all 3 would understand why.. Think about this.. All our recruits and current players seem to love Diaco, Donte, Bray, Parella and company. Not to mention we have coach dub taking care of our WR's and he is one of the best WR coaches in the nation.. If we fire MR, most likely they clean house. That means killing off all the progress we've made on the defensive side of the ball. I know, I know, we lost to No. Ill and gave up 42 to Oregon in the first half but this defense and defensive staff is good and making strides in the right direction. These kids have had less than a year to learn how to play the 3-4 so I have a hard time just throwing that out the window.. I do have a really good feeling about that side of the ball as we get deeper into B1G play. (I do smell an upset or 2) The other reason to keep MR, injuries... Just having Chris Jones on D the first few games I almost guarantee we are 3-1 if not 4-0 right now. Not to mention the WR, O-line, and RB issues. I know Lee hasn't been the savior at QB but all more the reason to give MR 1 more year so we can see what Lee, Gebbia or POB can really do in this system. As mentioned above, there is a ton of football to play... MR needs to have a top 20-25 recruiting class and go at least 6-6 but compete with the top programs (or go 7-5) and win a bowl game to even have a chance at keeping his job.. The new AD will be a big part of this as well.. (side note: I truly hope it's not Trev but that's just me.. I want someone that understands our traditions but doesn't want to live in the past. This isn't the 90's and we need to look toward the future.) I'm not giving up on MR just yet but he needs to get JAY CUTLER, I mean Tanner Lee, under control and teach him how to read a damn defense. Trust the Process and Trust MR.. at least for 1 more year

  3. Riley has to be fired first before we even start thinking about Frost. There's still a lot of season to go.

  6. If Obama were some simple-talking establishment figure with the right skin pigment (he's already one of those three), he and The Donald would have gotten along famously, and Trump would probably still be in the liberal camp today shouting Third Way talking points with the same gusto. Instead, the best way I've ever seen this put is that Trump saw a black man become the leader of his country and his world, and it melted his mind.

  8. It's pretty clear RedDenver was being facetious, teach. Scrolling through some of the last few pages here, you've done a fairly consistent job of contributing, contributing/trolling or just flat out trolling. I think it's probably for the best if you stop involving yourself in this thread.

  9. There is always going to be a talent gap between Nebraska and Ohio State/Michigan/Penn State due to population density. People hate to hear that though. What we need is a really, really good coach who can do more with less.

  10. So..... Most of the problems you seen were on defense? Maybe watch it a 2nd time

  11. Since there is all this speculation out there that Frost is already the next head coach at NU, it's just a matter of when. What happens if he turns them down? It isn't far-fetched, he has already done it once when he was a player, and once when he was offered a coaching position, allegedly. Who does Nebraska go after then? What about if Trev turns them down. There is just as much of a chance of this happening as it not.

  12. I still believe it was going to be Bret Bielma. Then Arkansas caved and gave him what he wanted. If Bielma actually took the offer......man my fandom would have taken a serious hit. I truly cannot stand that human being.

  13. Yup. You don't delay the inevitable because you have a handful of 18 year olds say they are coming to your school.

  15. The biggest reason we were able to do what we did in the 90's was because of the outstanding road graders that were being produced in-state. We had a great run in there with Adam Treau, Jon and Rob Zatechka, Eric Anderson, Joel Wilks, Zach Wiegert, and Chris Dishman. I don't follow high school football like I used to, but I don't really hear of talent like this playing these days in a Nebraska high school. I realize we recruited some great OL at that time in Brenden Stai, Aaron Graham, and Aaron Taylor. However, the bulk of our ability to jam the football down our opponents throat came from local talent. Over the past several years, it has seemed we concentrated recruiting efforts a lot more on skill positions than we have in the trenches. In order to get back to this style of offense, we're going to have to do much better with recruiting these positions.

  17. This is kind of a dumb question, is it not? Outside of bringing light to the fact that Scott Frost may not want the UNL job, the question has a pretty obvious answer. You go to your next best option.

  18. Yeah, well, you may be right but the non-Nebraska way hasn't worked in 20 years. My preference would be to try some things that way again. It seems to be working fairly well for Wisconsin. I'm not convinced this temp AD thing signals that but if it's a step in that direction, I'm all for it. They can take all this west coast, pro style, finesse BS and shove it where the sun don't shine. We need to get back to controlling the LOS. If Rimington represents that basic philosophy, which he does to the booster's and long time fans, then I sure don't have a problem with him being in that AD seat and making some observations and suggestions.

  21. tampa 2 also has a backer drop late in the middle of the field.. Let's hope Lee knows that before throwing late across the middle... Just sayin'

  22. What’s the problem, Nebraska? One Reason Why Nebraska Will Win The Nebraska defense has to be terrific. One Reason Why Illinois Will Win Nebraska can’t stop screwing up. What’s Going To Happen It’s this simple. If Lee doesn’t throw interceptions, Nebraska will win This actually made me laugh, but not in a good way. SMH

  25. It's probably somewhere in between the Vegas spreads and that. UCF presents problems for any data model because they have only 2 games, where most others have 4, and those two games include a huge blowout and a respectable win against a team in Maryland. Furthermore, while Maryland looks pretty good in a dataset, that data doesn't know they're on their 3rd QB. Should be a good game, though.

  26. 6-6 or 7-5 in year 3 is not good enough for me personally. I really don't think 8-4 should be, but getting there should mean we are in the hunt for the division and a chance to win a bowl game to get to "magic 9". That has happened in the recent past here, so I guess I'd be okay with it. However, I just don't see that happening.

  29. At least Diaco has been a head coach. Langsdorf has proven in two and a half seasons he can barely coordinate the offense.

  30. Right now I'm going to guess we don't need to worry about who's coaching the bowl game as the team will probably just be watching from home

  31. Lee prediction is bold. Not the part about him throwing picks. The part about Mike Riley benching him.

  32. Truly feel Coach Riley will survive the season, and I honestly think if we get some of our starters back we will see a half way descent team play. The tell tale game for this season as everyone knows is Wisconsin. If we can hang with them, or win the game, the outlook would be a lot different. These kids seem to love the Coach, and never quit on him. Trust me it would have been very easy at the Oregon game. But they kept playing and working together. We as fans may need to develop some of that never say die fire the kids have. We need to be positive for them, I don't care if you like the coach or hate him, our job is to support the kids on the field, really nothing more. We do not dictate who is hired or fired.

  34. I remember it sucked. But we also beat them in a pretty exciting game the previous year. Additionally, Ohio state was probably the best team in the country that year. The only reason 2012 really sucked was because our loss to OSU and Wisconsin. It seemed like we couldn't win the big games. But all of that, in reality and in retrospect, is infinitely better than struggling to beat bottom-tier teams and losing to non-p5 opponents. So yes. It was so much better. And I'm not afraid to admit that.

  35. The issue that I always have when people talk about the walk on program, is that they try to compare it to 20 years ago. The FCS teams in our area have completely changed the walk on program. Many of these kids that used to get partial scholarships to smaller schools now have opportunity for rides not very far from home. It will never be what it was.
