How the f#*k is talking about Jeff Long relevant to Scott Frost? Can’t wait to see the hoop you have to jump through to connect the dots.

DB drives me crazy. He says stuff like this on his show and words it such that you almost think he's talked to Frost or someone in the know, but he just can't come out and say it. Truth is, he just speculates like the rest of us but due to his connection to the program he gets off on being the "insider" guy.

I sense some irony in this post on the 119th page of a Scott Frost mega thread.

It's like when you're taking a multiple choice test and there is only one answer that makes too much sense so you start to doubt if it is actually right or not.

Frost listed as #3 on Tennessee's Hot List according to an article from their Rivals' site but the update from yesterday says that "multiple sources from various camps" say Frost is headed to Lincoln.

It's the latter. Schools are large businesses, and they're making multi-million dollar investments in these coaches. The people who make these decisions are entrusted to responsibly take care of that money. If they were to be so loose-lipped that the average Joe on the Street can know the inner workings of the hiring process, they would be fired. That goes for anyone on their staff entrusted with actual knowledge of the situation. No guy on a message board, no journalist - and ESPECIALLY no journalist who isn't a local beat writer (like Dan Wolken, Andy Staples, Brett McMurphy, etc) - knows which coaches have been approached, what the negotiations are like, who is being added to or crossed off a list. All of that is fantasy. It's speculation intended to entertain. People on message boards claim to be "insiders" because they get off on pretending to be important. Journalists create candidate lists out of what they think the fans want to see or purely out of their own imagination because their job is to get you to read their article. They don't know anything. The next time you hear someone prattling on about having inside information, remember the days between when Bo was fired and Riley was hired. Remember all the lists, all the speculation, all the insiders telling us who was on Eichorst's list, who was being talked to, bap bap bap. And then remember that not one insider so much as mentioned Mike Riley's name.

Jessica, here is something you need to understand. Frost is not coming if he doesn't have full say of staff. Now, that doesn't mean it's impossible for those coaches to stay, but those will be SF's decisions, not big wigs in a meeting room.

I know a person that is fairly high up in the athletic department and this person has told me it's pretty much a done deal with Frost. This person has no reason to lie to me but I'm still a skeptic. I've heard so much BS over the years...never from this person though. But I'm also just some jerkoff on a message board so take that how you'd like. Also, I saw Ronnie Green at Home Depot the other day. I passed him going the other way and asked him how the Frost deal was going. He just smiled and said that he didn't know what I was talking about, winked at me and then also audibly said "Wink, wink!". One of these statements is true.

My guess is Damon has put money down on frost coming to Nebraska and he wants to swing the odds so he can make more $$ when it happens. How do you like them apples.

Having just had a kid myself, you obtain a strong desire to have your family taken care of while your alive and when your gone. Now I don’t believe Scott will make a move FOR money, but he has to realize (if his team finishes undefeated) he cannot be in a better position to max out his earning. He’s got to strike while the irons hot. The stars hardly align for anyone to max out your earning AND be offered your dream job (if that is still the case). If he has the desire to come to Nebraska, it has to be now, if he wants to benefit his family to the fullest potential.

This photo brings a smile to my face... I miss Ron Brown & Ameer and when Frost is next to them it brings me back to happier memories from Nebraska. Days of spectacular plays and wins.

What Mike Riley's OSU team did in 2012 to beat Wisconsin (which NU did too a few games later) has no bearing on what he's done in three years here. There's tons of alarm bells going off from former players about what's going on. I think it's laughable that you're trying to pin this on the fanbase. In no way has the fanbase prevented the current staff from "building a winner" Outside of the appearance of recruiting better (actual data shows it's the same as before), there's not really a single thing that they've done better over their predecessors. Combine that with the factual data of bad performances, horrible offensive line play, bad offense, and atrocious defense, and the only thing you have to hang your hat on is opinion, and blaming it on the fans. Riley may have been a good coach a decade ago, but since 2010... 5-7 3-9 9-4 7-6 5-7 6-7 9-4 4-6* He's 48 - 50, and likely to lose the next two games. Three years is plenty of time to show what you've got. He took over a program that had never won less than 9 games for 7 straight year, and it nosedived. And even then, I don't think he's 100% to blame. I blame Shawn for alot of this too. But the reality is, he's the head coach, and it's his responsibility. Blaming anyone else (especially the fans) is simply deflecting from reality.
