  3. These are our students with severe and profound disabilities at Burke. We call them our Rockstars. This makes me proud to be a Nebraskan. He didn't have to stop by here, had nothing to do with the reason he was at Burke. He just went out of his way to stop in and say hi.

  5. Not sure if this has ever been posted but it’s worth sharing. Frost quote while at UCF on recruiting “Long-term, I don’t want to recruit a lot of guys here who are going to be prima-donnas and wait until the last day to put four or five hats on a table and keep teams hostage to wait and see what they’re going to do. I want kids who want to be at UCF, not kids that want to be recruited." “So much has come of this because of websites and TV coverage. In my experience, the kids that fall in love with recruiting and do those things, they have a harder time adjusting to college football and college life (as opposed to) kids that make their decision and immediately think about how to make themselves great college football players. Recruiting is fun for everybody, but in the long run, you’re better off getting the kids more about business and ready to get to work.” “For a year or two as they're getting recruited, these young men have everybody from Rivals to Scout to ESPN to local media to coaches telling them how great they are," he said. "One of my first pieces of advice to recruits is, don’t buy into that, because the minute you get to campus, nobody’s going to be telling you that anymore. The kids who fall in love with that process and start believing the hype about themselves too much, it’s a tougher transition for them to college football.”

  7. Let's not put the cart before the horse, he could still crap the bed and go all Wildcat and...... Yeah I can't even joke about it, what a freaking upgrade over the last 15 years! And he has yet to coach a game!

  8. It was elite because he happened to have several highly-rated prospects committed early. But it doesn't mean much as to what you're rated in June - especially on average. It was probably going to be a pretty good class. But not with how poor of a product he was putting on the field. We were going to lose Bookie and Goodrich even if Riley stayed.

  12. Well at this point in the cycle, every second matters. In one day, so much can change (Maurice Washington is a prime example). These players are being recruited by other schools who present different advantages. If you have to meet a number no matter what, then you have to get that commit. Because your plan b is a plan a for someone else. Wait around too long and you might lose both.

  21. I was not a traditional student, so I didn't do any partying and didn't really socialize with any whippersnappers until I started my M.S. I got both my B.S. in Math and my M.S. in Statistics at UNL. The statistics dept. at UNL focuses more on applied stats than a lot of other statistics programs, which is good if you don't want to become a professor. I don't know anything about CSU but that's what I know of UNL. I really enjoyed my time there. - this is all irrelevant if she doesn't want an M.S., and she could also go to a different school for her M.S. of course. This is more my gut than anything else but if the cost is the same I would tell pretty much anyone to get away from their parents for awhile. I just think it's good for them. 8 hours isn't terribly far and she could come home in the summers. As for the friend... that makes it difficult too. But sometimes it can be good to get away from high school friends and make new ones all on your own. She will still have that friend whenever she goes back to Colorado. Anyhow, you should be very happy she wants a math/psychology/stats degree. I think it would be really hard right now to have a kid dead set on a degree that will be hard to get a job with, and there are lots of them. Telling a kid not to go to college isn't something I'd want to do, even if it's the right decision. Or even trying to sway them toward something more practical because that'd cause resentment.

  22. I will provide deeper insight into what Frost was getting at. Most kids know where they want to go before the visits. Not very many kids are completely torn by signing day. Most kids drag the process for fame. There are exceptions for sure but Frost is saying what every coach really wants to say. When families pull in different directions, its usually illegal incentives or pure selfishness, which is a red flag for many coaches. I agree with Frost wholeheartedly.

  23. I used to tell players all the time, that they need to watch and pay attention to college football. I can't tell you how many kids did not know some of the most basic information about a program (W/L, Head coaches name, mascot, location, etc). We had a top level juco recruit who was getting looked at by Penn St in 2013. He told our HC, "man I could win a National Championship if I go there". Our HC turned around, walked into his office, and locked the door. I had to explain to this recruit that Penn St is amidst the worst cover up scandal in recent memory, and cannot actually play for one. I want to tie this in with some of these recruits who are considering Baylor, Ole Miss, Tenn. To consider two of these teams is absurd. Tennessee had the most pathetic offseason we have seen in a while. These kids need to pay attention.

  26. Once Bookie started to waver, I felt like Tyjon would probably look to transfer. Bookie peer recruited him to Nebraska. Not having the family that you thought you would is a huge element. When you throw in that Keith Williams is gone, we’re coming off a four win season, and he has a redshirt year to use for his transfer year. I think Frost’s offense is giving him pause. He sees what he could do in the offense, so he’s weighing that against everything else. I hope he stays, because he could be special in Frost’s offense. He has to do what’s best for him though. If that means leaving to be with Bookie or any other school, that’s what he needs to do. I’ll never question a player’s decision to transfer; if that’s what feels best for you, do it. Whatever Lindsey chooses, I wish luck.

  28. When I say I think there was no collusion I mean only with Trump personally. I think it's pretty obvious that people with ties to Russia joined his campaign and team so they could try to control him. And that was easy because all you have to do is flatter him and have $ or know people he wants to know.

  29. Alot of times the coverup is bigger than the crime but this isn't one of those times imo. I really think Trump is Russias stooge whether he knows it directly or not and I think at the end of all of this it will come out that Trump was not working in Americas best interest. I think there is a possibility Trump is somewhat unaware of the gravity of the situation, but I do think Russia has been grooming Trump for this moment. They took their shot and its working. The USA is in a state of disarray right now.

  30. I was very honored wearing a Blackshirt this last year and my first year on the starting lineup. I've been around here a long time, and I have never campaigned for a spot. That being said, I have grown attached to the Blackshirt. I would love to again be part of this group when Scott Frost begins the rejuvenation of Nebraska Football.

  31. This is not correct, that's same excuse people tried to give when Pettaway left, who might have been the best player miles will ever have. Pettaway was detrimental, he doesn't care about his team, blah blah, all while being the best player on the floor. Trying his best to keep the team alive.
