  3. Getting Moos. Happened during the Riley era. Getting Frost happened after.

  4. 3 years of Mike Riley football and there are only three games Nebraska won that I remember. 2015 UCLA, 2016 Oregon and 2015 Michigan St. Everything else I'm like, "Did Nebraska win that game?". Yeesh.

  5. My problem with grocery stores' "8 Item or less" line is they never enforce them. This morning I went to store to pick up milk and Pop Tarts. I should have been in and out in about five minutes. But the guy right in front of me in the "8 Item or less" line had 20 items. 20! I counted. And then he got out coupons. All the while the rotund, elderly checkout woman is just chatting away with him. Good grief, if they're gonna let people like that in the "8 Item or less" line, why even bother? It'll be a long time before I go back to that grocery store. /shakes head

  6. I assume he wasn't exactly in the mix for QB at SDSU? I love this concept. Former Nebraska HS player walks on as a punter and played QB, makes me think we could see some fake punt plays incorporated.

  9. Eh, in general I would agree. But at this point in this season, I think you go a bit more lenient and hope some of that attitude carries over into a strong finish to the season.

  10. Your anecdotal opinion doesn't matter - they were a premiere team, who beat the #4, #9, #11, and #19 teams in the nation, won their conference, and made the playoff. That's a great team, period. Please. Sparty has outperformed Michigan in every capacity possibly imaginable over the last decade, including 8-2 head to head.

  11. DoNU fan after upsetting Sparty in 2015: Man, this is awesome! Maybe we're gonna start pulling our heads out of our butts and get things rolling! Things are gonna be ok! Narrator: But things were not ok, and heads were not pulled out of butts...

  14. Jordan Larson used to go by Jordan Larson-Burbach. In her Wiki entry, it says she was married to Luke Burbach. Did she get divorced? Just a random question of the reason for the name change.

  15. My problem with microwave burritos (and Hot Pockets) is there's no way to cook them evenly. It's either undercook them & leave the middle frozen or overnuke making the outside hard and the insides spilling out lava hot. What do they want from us?

  17. What Altavila did is no different than a football player celebrating after a TD, sack, etc. Let the players show some emotion after making a great play. Erstad needs to relax and let the kids have some fun because at this point, the season is basically over

  18. They might also not have been willing to pay him what Alabama pays. I have no idea what this position pays, and maybe we could afford whatever Alabama would pay, but if it had put him above any of the assistant coaches, they probably would've had to give the assistant coaches raises too.

  19. Don't blame cashiers for letting people go through with too many items. As a former cashier, there are so many a-hole customers and cashiers aren't allowed to tell them not to do anything.

  20. I was talking to a buddy of mine who coaches college for one of the better Dakotas and the first words out of his mouth was how much he hated Scott frost. He was joking, kind of. Frost is putting the heat on those programs it is a much more difficult decision to go schollie or walk on at Nebraska.

  22. Yep I agree. Erstad teams have had some real nutless performances in games they needed to win. This may be the first time I saw them get angry, and fight. Gelo would have worn one, but I don't think he would have cared. I watched this team do Erstad's "grind" at the end of last year and mope around in 4 straight losses against Iowa, Maryland, Yale and Holy Cross.

  26. No, the issue in question is whether regulation increases the cost for the customer. It does. I happen to think there are a lot of other more important factors (and also that there should be price regulations). But you've stated it has "NOTHING" to do with it, which is just plain wrong. That tends to be the case whenever you talk in absolutes. (Yes - I've just done that, but if regulation costs even 1 cent it has to be a factor).
    1 point
  27. You haven't posted anything that proves that, and it can't possibly be true that they have nothing to do with it. Obviously regulations cost money, so they're a factor in the cost of medication. For instance there has to be a bunch of thorough testing done (I've talked to statisticians who are involved in it and it's a long drawn-out process that takes a lot of people) and someone has to pay for that. But the thing is the regulations save lives, and honestly they help the companies too because they prevent some lawsuits. You could maybe argue that the benefit of preventing deaths (i.e. lawsuits) balances out the cost of the regulations, but that'd be pretty tough/impossible to calculate.

  30. I know it was a status post at one time and caused some debate, and I thought it was a thread of it's own but I can't find it. So here it fits best ... An EXCELLENT read about NBA Coach Becky Hammon and her abilities for a head coaching position by someone who has a right to an opinion. I hope the fellas who debated that there was no room in a male locker room for a female coach will read this. https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/articles/pau-gasol-becky-hammon

  31. Great teams win it all...they don't go on the road vs a crappy NU team as 2 point favorites and they don't get finger-blasted in their "bowl game" without scoring a point, semi-colon.

  34. Another thought: If fan expectations bother you, there are plenty of schools you can play for that don't have them. If Lee didn't want to be at a place that has them, he could have stayed at Tulane. I don't see how recruits can visit here (where recruits have said fans already know their names) or know anything about the school and not realize this might happen. Especially as a QB.

  40. I think Maurice might be the perfect Duck-R because that guy can run some routes. He is going to put a lot of stress on defenses running and receiving. And can we get new terminology? Maybe Husk-R , instead of referring to some other team's mascot. Wilbon did average 5.4 yards per carry, so I think the jury is still out on him. Bradley was a little disappointing in that he didn't capitalize on his opportunities, but there could be a multitude of circumstances when you only see 1 practice. Austin Rose again capitalized on his limited opportunities in a spring game. I wonder what the deal is with him that he never moved up the depth chart.

  41. I know this isn't directed at me, but the guys at 247 think there is a chance we would take all 3 if they wanted N. Going into next year we only scholly RB's we have: Bell - Sr Bradley - Jr Washington - RsFr/Soph That said, I doubt all 3 would want N.

  42. I agree with tort system reform, though it's more easy said than done. Solvency, which is related to an insurance company's rating, is a good thing. Do you know what all goes in to obtaining the patent on a drug? Do you know how long a patent is good for? I realize it's easy to point a finger at "evil" corporate America, but we are a capitalistic market, right?

  43. Hickman and Henrich are both really talented. I bet we land 1 of them and the other doesn't end up in the B1G West. As time passes and Frost rebuilds the program, it will become easier to keep in-state kids home. With the visits Henrich took, it shows that ND is in the lead out of those four schools he visited. I do NOT want him at WI.
