  1. I had a feeling Peat would pick Stanford. The clue was Avery Moss hadn't sent in his letter of intent yet. I think the "goofy cousin" follows Peat to Stanford.
  2. I watched highlights of the 1987 Nebraska-South Carolina game, and the old man Shed Diggs was all over the place. Looked like a pretty good player.
  3. I am looking for Huskers Illustrated back issues, particularly the years 1986-1991. Thanks.
  4. I think people romanticize McBride's defenses a bit. Craig Bohl could have a dominating defense with Farley, Tomich, and Booker. I'm too young to know but wasn't the weakness of the 83 team the defense? Even the year we got blown out by Georgia Tech in the bowl game our D was pedestrian wasn't it? The year we got blown out by Georgia Tech we had Mike Croel, Bruce Pickens, Reggie Cooper, Mike Petko, Pat Tyrance, and Kenny Walker. I was befuddled as a 13 year old what happened that year with all that talent. You would think just by those guys standing out there they could have limited Tech to under 30 points. Those were Mcbride's dark years. Still, I would love to see McBride back.
  5. It's great to have someone close to the program that's willing to share some insights with us. No one has a gun to your head demanding you buy it, right? This is a "forum", my friend. Everything is good. No I wasn't being skeptical. I was just wondering if Da Skers was one of those insiders everyone wants to hear from, like Sam I AM and the Louisiana Husker dude from the Red Sea Scrolls.
  6. All right enough with lurking I'll chime in. I would like to see a special teams a point of emphasis in the offseason. The kick coverage has been terrible since Bo got here. If JP goes to DC and Ells gets the special teams, I hope he has the pedigree for it. While Burkhead and Abdullah spent the season fair catching it seems like the opposing returners had the whole field to run around on punts. Also, is DA Skers one of the official "insiders" on this board?
  7. Oh, and on the positive side I learned today that T-mart is a better quarterback than he gets credit for. I was hard on him after Wisconsin, but was converted after the OSU comeback.
  8. That the Diamond formation would not work against Northwestern's alignment. I mean why else wouldn't we have tried it? If the coaches thought it would be effective wouldn't they have used it?. Also, we need more blue chippers on the O-line. Andrew may get there, and Tyler Moore is young. But the majority O-lineman from the 2008-2010 recruiting classes are not very good.
  9. For me it was the 1987 "game of the century" part two. OU won 17-7. I was 10 years old and highly emotional. The build up that week was intense. There was a rap song made about the game leading up to it that I recorded off the radio. It was called "Hell raising tour 87". I listened to that over and over again. I counted down the hours till kickoff starting the previous Monday. Jamalle Holloway was hurt and OU squeaked by Missouri when we killed.them. I was sure the Skers would win. Keith Jones scored first, but OU whipped the huskers up and down the field. I had to be constantly reminded that the sun would come up the next morning. A close second was when Tyreese Knox fumbled away a win against FSU that year. 87 was also the last year we had the kind of players to hang with the Florida teams until 1993. It seems the older you get the less a loss bothers you. It still makes me mad, but not like when I was a kid.
  10. Imagine what Bo would have been like had they lost.
  11. Bo is interviewing the media again. "You watched the game what do you think?"
  12. I am guilty. I switched the channel and turned the DVR off. Then I channel surfed and happened upon ICarly. 10 seconds of that (After admiring the looks of those girls who are all grown up now) and I hit recall just in time for David's fumble recovery. DVR switched back on but I never really thought we would win until we tied the game.
  13. Screaming and Yelling always got my attention. But only if who was doing it didn't normally scream and yell.
  14. Junior4949 I think you are right. It's that threat to run 80 yards off a zone read that keeps him in the game. But what are we trading off? Ron Kellogg could not run 80 yards on a zone read with the burst of Taylor, but he knows how to throw a football. If Kellogg could execute an occasional play action, hit an open receiver, hand off and get the play going before the clock expires, wouldn't he be a better option?
  15. He deserves all the credit in the world. I'm ready to throw the QB, the defense and the coaches under the bus, but this guy is a player who never quit.
