I voted Martinez, I just get the vibe that he's our guy and Frost worked hard to get him here. I like Gebbia and I think he has worked extremely hard, but in the end Martinez just has more to offer. Just putting in my 2 cents.
7:30 tee time at Prairie Club. (only get to play 1 time a year)
7:32 look for first lost ball of the round
10:30 tally up card for a crowd pleasing 98 (gotta keep it under 100)
10:30-12:00 Have beers in the clubhouse
12-2:30 eat lunch and get ready for game
2:30-6:00 Watch us pummel BYU
6-12:00 Enjoy that first win feeling and hang out with family and friends.
After the spring game I was really high on Adam Taylor. From what we've heard so far Newby and Wilbon sound like the type of back Riley is looking for but when we get into Big 10 play and need some tough yards I feel like Taylor will get some opportunities IMO.
Stumpy, I 100% agree. If I remember correctly one of the first things Riley did was ask TO why he chose to switch to the option from a pass heavy offense when he was at Nebraska. Riley is trying to get a lot of information from past coaches and adapt his style to what he thinks will work at NU.
I've supported every coach we've ever had ( including Billy C ) and I will continue that with Riley. To me the bottom line on all of this is we have talent, and to have a losing record in the first year would be very disappointing no matter who the coach is.
I will give coach Riley credit so far he seems to get the history part I never really felt Callahan did, and Pelini was good with some things, but I always felt this wasn't one of them.
In all honesty, I think it's a terrible idea.
Hit the reset button. Bring in an outsider that knows how to win.
I'm not necessarily saying I think TO would be on staff just someone there for Frost to bounce ideas off of but that's obviously JMO.
I've been reading this entire thread for the last couple days and originally thought Tressel like a lot of others, but the longer it goes I really wouldn't be surprised to see something along these lines with TO somehow being involved. You can't deny it would unite the masses once again.
I had my 12th beer about 1:30, but still got up and fertilized the yard at 9 a.m., had lunch, coached flag football at 2, and came to the realization last night that Penn St. and Nebraska are the only remaining undeafeted Big 10 teams.
