This depends on which site you go through. If you look at JCGridiron.com, this is true. If you look at the NJCAA ( National Junior College Athletic Association ) rankings, neither team is ranked in the top 20.
Saddleback and the rest of the California Jucos don't play a national schedule. They play teams within the state and that is it.
JCGridiron ranks all Junior Colleges. The NJCAA only ranks member schools. California schools are not members of NJCAA. In a state with over 30 million people and several junior colleges in every county there is no need to play a national schedule. The best competition is in their own state.
In my opinion Stanton's confidence was destroyed by the previous coaching staff. It took his current coach to restore his confidence by sticking with him even after he struggled in the first two games. Now Stanton is playing better than ever and has his team in the state championship. You will be hearing more from Stanton in the next two years.
