  1. I am okay with what he said. I also think a lot of hoopla would have been avoided if he made this statement earlier. I think SE shares some of the blame for Bo's outbursts and meltdowns. If there was better communication between the two, I do not think things get to this point.
  2. I know there are already a lot of similar topics and threads out there, but I just wanted to get my thoughts out. Feel free to ignore or make fun of it. I personally thought Bo was dealt a rough hand this year. There was a young defense and then a lot of offensive injuries. I was enjoying the season as every game was competed for, and fought hard in spite of this. I saw a lot of improvement in the defense and liked the way the team played for each other. I think a lot of coaches would have ended up with a 5 and 7 record with all this adversity. I also thought a lot of the media attention and fan pressure was unfair, some was warranted and Bo did not always do himself any favors but a lot was unwarranted. Some coaches have seasons that injuries derail, it just doesn't seem to explode like it does at Nebraska. I am not even sure who I am angry at. It is clear that the Administration and Bo are not on the same page. I am very suspicious of Harvey Perlman. He does not have a good track record with hiring A.D.'s and seems to be meddling. The A.D. and Perlman failed to back Bo during the leaked tape. I find that very suspicious. I also feel part of the reason Bo became unhinged today was because of the lack of support from the admin. It trickled down to the players. It seemed like the side show of this soap opera overshadowed the game. The admin could have handled things better. Bo obviously does not do himself any favors with the media. This is also what we knew we were getting with Bo. I can live with some of it. I also thought Bo progressed in his sideline behaviors and even some of his game management. From what I have read some of his recruiting seemed to be coming together. However, I am very critical of the way Nebraska never seems to get beat by better teams. Instead it is an implosion to teams that are of similar talent. There always seems to be an implosion, whether it is penalties or turnovers. Bo could handle things better I am just not sure how this whole situation got so toxic. It just sucks that i feel like as a fan base we are left with more questions then answers. I am okay with a 9 wins and even 8 win seasons, but I want a brand of football I can be proud of. I want an identity, I want toughness, I want clean game plans that are executed. I am not sure firing Bo is the answer. I am not sure keeping Bo is the answer. I am just waiting to see what happens. My questions: If Bo comes back is he in a situation to succeed? If Nebraska moves on, is there steady leadership to hire a new coach? (I am starting to have serious doubts here) Does this whole athletic department need to look itself in the mirror and figure out its mission statements and find ways to modernize while maintaining tradition?
  3. I wonder if by Bo handling the Media this way he puts more attention on himself and allows the players to just play. Everyone is criticising him and the players are left alone.
  4. Its like a tailored sportscenter for teams I care about.
  5. He has a point but is wrong for saying it the way he did. I am a Tmagic fan but can't defend him here.
  6. Sorry these are Division I athletes trying to get in the NFL. They should be able to handle some yelling. To be fair, I say a lot of coaching by Bo. Considering the circumstances, I thought Bo was very well in control. I saw a lot of teaching/coaching going along with the yelling. Bo is getting better, the team is getting better, just had a setback. With all this young talent at teh skill positions the future is bright.
  7. Come on people how well would you do in front of a microphone after that loss. Even as a fan. I am coach myself and having to talk to parents sometimes after those games is tough. Things happen. Pelini will figure it out. It is a young team at the skill positions they will get better.
  8. Is how crazy this board gets. It is very entertaining. I think we all need some perspective. Stay the course. The coaching staff will figure it out. The last thing NU wants to do is become a program that runs off a coach every 3-4 years.
  9. All of us fans need some perspective. Things are going in teh right direction. There is a lot of talent on this team and Bo has shown that his teams progress through the year. I think they will be better. Even 2009 had some bumps and they almost went to a BCS game.
  10. Not calling for Beck's head, but very poor decisions to put Martinez in the situations he was in. The team is still very young in the skill positions. They have to build from thisl.
  11. Call me crazy but I think the team is improving. If they keep getting better week to week they should be strong at the end of the year. Oline will get better. D will get healthy and get better. Offensive play calling continues to be better then last year.
  12. I thought the play calling was much better except for the Burkhead pass. I think the execution will continue to improve as teh season goes on. The offense seemed to taylored to its strengths. I thought they improved as the game went on and it makes sense. Feel like this team will continue to improve much like the defense always seems to.
  13. I just liked that the play calling seemed to make sense. The plays were to our players strengths. I do think the line will get better so the straight ahead run can become more established. Do not need to be dominate straight ahead but need to get 4-5 yeards once and a while. To me the problems looked very fixable and will get fixed as the season goes on. A lot of young guys gelling. It will be fun towatch.
