  1. Ugh, I can only imagine how giddy the OWH writers were when this hit. I think the reason they don't get along with Pelini is because they are just as arrogant.
  2. I like Wetzel, but f#*k him thinking we can't be a top program. Like Oklahoma, OSU, or Michigan are so much greater location-wise? What a stupid take.
  3. This is what should mean the most. When these players know Bo a lot more than we do. Hardrick didn't even get that good of playing time when he was a high profile guy. And he did not hesitate to say good things about Bo. Like i've heard before, every single college coach has said something or another that never gets to the public. Unfortunately some ass hat tipped off deadspin. I'd be pissed too at all of the f&%ktards who leave the game early. Hell you can go back and see me bitching in the woodshed about the people who left with 7 minutes left in the Wyoming game. We sure do like to have the best of both worlds here. We may be the greatest fans as far as gestures toward opponents go. But damn we don't hesitate to rip this program to shreds if it doesn't go our way, myself included. All of his players love him. You say they know him better and that's probably true. But that is Bo's fault. All we get to see is the prick that gives short answers to the media and says "what do you think? you were there, why don't you tell me" instead of being a grown up that makes $3 MILLION a year and answer the question. I'm no Omaha media homer that thinks they do no wrong (personally I can't stand Dirk), but the guy needs to show us something that's likeable if he wants to be liked. So, are Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Jim Mora Jr, Mark Dantonio, Brady Hoke, Will Muschamp, Mike Gundy, etc... are they all pricks because they don't answer questions and are paid a lot of money to do it? They're paid money to coach football not answer slimy media member's questions. No, he IS paid to answer questions. He is a coach at a big-time college program. It IS a job function. Just like any other job you can be bad at one thing as long as you are kicking ass at the others. Not exactly happening here... Not hating on him here, just can't understand why the hell he is so bad with media/public.

  5. Bump... Would love to hear when others get theirs.
  6. Even the Peter brothers' little brother didn't go to NU. He chose Notre Dame over us (and then broke his neck diving into a pool before stepping a foot on campus). Supposedly he was more talented than both of them.
  7. F that. Raymond needs to be gone. Not enough TALENT?!? Even if that were true (which I really don't believe) who's freaking fault is that? Is it the kid's fault that you brought them in here and they weren't good enough for you? Reading that last Tuesday made me sick. I've been a big Bo supporter, but it seems like his staff is taking his crybaby attitude to the next level. I couldn't imagine saying something like that in front others. Those are the sort of discussions you have in private. If one of my direct reports at work went into a company wide meeting and told everyone that we failed to do our jobs due to not having enough talented people (in front of those people) that would be the mother of all ass-chewings...
  8. Or your basketball school has too high of expectations for its football team and didn't give him a chance to get his players in there. Mangino overachieved there and they will never be that good again.
  9. Usually it works two ways. The guy gets a lump sum like Turner Gill is getting or they deduct the coaches new salary from what he would get from his old contract. For example when we let Frank go he was due 900,000 a year (number used as an example) and Ohio only paid him 600,000. Nebraska only has to pay him 300,000 For each year on his contract that he was to work at NU. I've never heard of a guy getting fired and having a buy out or restriction not to work or forfeit all the money due to him. I'm sure there would be legal issues since you were dismissing him. So who ever is stating this most likely has a lot of bong resin clouding his reasoning. What I don't understand--never have and never will--is why college coaches have buyouts in their contract... In no other profession that I can think of does this happen. If a Walmart employee gets canned for no reason, should Walmart be required to pay them whatever they were making to make up for it? This probably isn't the best analogy because Walmart employees don't have contracts, but still... When you get into high-profile professional positions there is usually a buy-out on a contract. CEO's, VP's, etc. Hell, a lot of pro athletes get guaranteed contracts, which means they get paid either way. Its all the same...
  10. Hold up buddy... Arkansas is not out of the Cap 1 choice.... yes Cotton is drooling for the Hogs but Cap 1 gets first choice. As the higher ranked Sec team and a offer from Cap 1 is likely... We already played In Jerrys world this year and the word from the locker room is the kids want Florida.. so youll just have to hold on and see what cards we choose to play first..... I'm just saying that every single insider at USC as well as outside USC has said Cap One. Plus the Cap One "loves USC" and knows how well we travel. Not to mention that the Cap1 has already voted on the SEC teams and the USC AD already knows what bowl we are going to... I didn't think USC got to play in a bowl game this year due to NCAA sanctions??? He is talking about South Carolina. He should learn that nobody refers to them as USC outside of the state of South Carolina. As much as I hate Southern Cal, they are the real USC. Just like we are the real NU...
  11. Coaches and student athletes don't pay for their tickets, so do those not count towards the sellout streak? IS ANYTHING REAL?!?!?!?!?!?
  12. Stupid time warner. Wish I could watch this.
  13. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/andy_staples/11/08/penn-state-joe-paterno-scandal/index.html?eref=sihp&sct=hp_t11_a0 I think Andy Staples' article sums it up the best.
  14. RB now stands for Rex Burkhead. Example: "Trent Richardson is the best Rex Burkhead in the SEC."
