  1. "yeah we gave an awesome effort, and we showed some leadership out there. sam, he had a terrefic day. i also was impressed in our young kicker Alex Henery, he plays with heart, and he helps our team play with heart. I know we lost but we are not going to change anything drastically. We are just going to keep improving on what we do." ...which is jack schitt
  2. I think our defense is going to make their big comeback this weekend. Coach Cal has recruited the right personel to defeat Missouri's offense (Culbert especially) and last season Cosgrove's plan worked unbelievable good. I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar this time around. Have faith.
  3. Yes I agree the offense is doing well. Another positive I think is being overlooked is the new depth we have at I-back. Lucky, Castille and Helu all contributed against Ball State. I really like Roy Helu, he has the size and cut speed as Reggie Bush. He was one of our best recruits last year but he was over looked on the national scene. He should be great in the future.
  4. As I sat in the stands yesterday the only thing I noticed was just how lazy the players are. Walking back to the huddle, jogging around...no real hustle....no real heart. I loved back in the day when C. Peter would get a sack and about 12 (yeah, 12) huskers would jump on him. They motivated eachother. I didn't see any of that
  5. I think it would be a great idea if Blackshirts are awarded each week instead of at the beginning of the year. That way the guys on the defensive side of the ball have to work hard each week to earn them.
  6. I am not to worried about the oline. They didn't to so well making the holes for Lucky in the run game, but Keller had all night to throw the ball. He hardly ever hit the turf.
  7. Well, now that I see your guy's opinions I guess coaching is really the problem. We have had so many chances to get over the hump to what we were before, but so many of those times we have taken BIG steps back. True, it may take 1 or 2 years for a coach to get a program back, but not 5.
  8. Cosgrove is going nowhere. I don't see why we have to give him added pressure. Some of us don't understand the parody in college football these days. App State was not a fluke! Anybody can beat anybody on any given day. This isn't twenty years ago when Nebraska would win everything easily until Oklahoma rolled into town and that would actually be a ball game. Every game presents a different challenge, and it's really hard for coaches to adapt to different game plans.
  9. I'm tired of seeing all of this crap about we should get rid of Cosgrove. I don't understand all the scrutiny he has been receiving. We know the defense has not played well the past couple games....but come on! Having struggles against the #1 team in the nation and the defending ACC champion are not that bad considering we came out of that 1-1. And Nevada was a good team with a difficult offense to learn, we could have easily choked there but instead we beat, what, 52-10. Talk about a crappy coach huh. Come on! And now you want to blame everything on Ruud and McKeon. These guys have done nothing but fight their butts off for the Huskers. Hell, last week you loved these guys and now you dont want them to start. If you want to blame any of the defensive personel than criticize the dline for not knowing how to wrap up.
  10. If it you look at their games last year against Oregon State and UCLA, the opposing offenses tried to hold on to the ball and take control of the game (so Callahan had the right idea last year with trying the run the ball, unfortunately it wasn't mastered yet). So if we have more time of possesion that will help. Another big aspect of the game is the turnover department. Nebraska has to be +1 of +2 in the turnover battle to have a significant chance to win. Obviously OSU and UCLA caused many turnovers on d to give them a chance. As long as we get better pressure on Booty than we did last year we can rattle him and force him to make bad decisions.
  11. Husker fans are the greatest football fans in the nation dont f it up now on television
  12. People (on the national scale) tend to forget that he was the second best high school running back in the nation when he committed. He has this offense down and now he is going to roll.
  13. How could you even be a Husker fan posting threads like this? Besides, if there was nobody in the world named Terrence Nunn the night of the 05 Alamo Bowl then Nebraska would of got creamed by Michigan.
