Hey @killer cacti, so how do you feel about being conference mates? FSU, Washington, Clemson, and Oregon to the #B1G as soon as next week supposedly:
-
Does anyone here teach in Nebraska? Needing help navigating the state site and getting answers. If you'd prefer to PM so you don't out your profession on the board, that's cool.
I dunno...maybe it's just me, but it's kind of a cluster**** process for new teachers to get certified in the state...

If you're a gamer, s*** just got real in the Microsoft camp:

That's a hell of a power play. -
Jordan Larsen to Texass as a Volleyball coach? What in the actual f***?!!?
-
@ColoradoHusk I get that she needs a paycheck and a gig.
But damn...couldn't she have found a landing spot with another program that's not diametrically opposed to our existence as a program?
-
@VectorVictor NU would only play Texas in the NCAA tournament and the occasional non-conference match. It's not like Larsen is getting her start with a conference rival, which even then wouldn't be a big deal.

YouTube TV dropped all of the Disney channels because of the ongoing negotiations/carrier dispute.
Sling TV has their first month for $10 and has most of the lost channels, sports-wise. Good alternative to tide you over until Disney and YTTV come to an agreement.
And no, HULU TV isn’t a good alternative, plus why reward Disney and Comcast? At least YTTV is giving folks a credit while this issue persists…

I might take a look at Sling, but I'm mostly hoping that YTTV and Disney come to an agreement relatively soon. I primarily had a subscription for Husker football and Formula 1. NFL is like a 'in the background' mood on Sundays. With the Huskers as they've been, it's really only been F1, and that season is over now for a few months. I'll probably only cancel if this continues for weeks.

So Bert got a (road) win against a Top 10 team his first year. There’s no way you can tell me Illinois is better in Bert’s first year than we were in Scott’s first, second, third, or fourth year.

@GSGI said the exact same thing myself watching those OTs.
Also, swapping end zones during OTs was a beating. Would much rather have the old OT back. Or after the second OT, make it sudden death rules, a la the NFL. -
@VectorVictor Yes! Bring back the old OT. I think under the old rules that game probably ends in 3rd or 4th OT and not the 9th

Facebook is down. Now where will I go to for medical malinformaiton?

Ed Asner just passed on.

I couldn't settle on a number for a Youth Soccer Goalie jersey (scarlet and cream colored) for our team, so I went with #79.
-
@GSGno, but I've been coaching a very successful one for four years now. I needed to order a communal goalie jersey (an in-case scenario) and I went with the number of one of the best defenders of all time.

Wonder Woman 1984 coming to HBOMax on December 25th. I'd be excited if HBOMax wasn't a steaming pile of **** streaming service right now.
-
No 4K, no HDR, no Dolby Atmos, app is janky on Apple TV (constant crashing/issues with watching/favoriting movies). Also, HBOMax isn't available on Roku devices...because...reasons.
The HBOMax app has been out for a while now. Disney+ was able to have 4K, HDR, and Dolby Atmos support from the jump, we're still waiting for HBOMax to get with the program. Hell, they haven't even updated their roadmap since launch--makes me wonder if this is a last-ditch effort for the service to remain viable.

Sweet baby Jesus tap dancing on a ************* cracker, nabbing one XBox Series X presale was hard enough. Nabbing another one for my brother who is a teacher...I think I wore out my mouse getting the second system.
-
Hardest sale I ever got in on was when HP killed the TouchPad just six weeks after launching it and put it on fire sale for fifty bucks. I was sitting there trying to order it pretty much day and night while their servers were getting hammered, lol. Ultimately managed to snag one for me and one for my brother.

Just updated the Next Gen Gaming Thread with new PS5 info.
Sony fans...you may want to stay away at this point...it looks like the infamous GitHub leak was dead on. -
Anyone done club volleyball for their daughter here? Need someone I can ask a few questions/get a sanity check on a situation from, if you don't mind.
-
So who works in Omaha and can give me dirt/intel on ProKarma? Looking into a full-time gig (read: not contract) with them, want to know details before I potentially move my family 700 miles north.

Hmmm, well I've heard of this happening at some other IT firms in town so it's not completely out of the blue. I would have so many questions though. If I were moving, I'd feel way more comfortable getting a offer from an actual company versus working for a staffing company. Make sure you talk to some of the other IT folks they have doing this so you can get the straight scoop. If they refuse to let you do that or worse yet, don't have anyone you can talk to, that would be a huge red flag for me.

@Xmas32 Good call, thanks.

Illinois doing a good job blanking Purdue, 8:00 in the 4th. They have Rutgers next week and Northwestern as their last game, and Illinois may be bowl eligible before NW.

For the 90s kids, Ash Ketchum finally won a Pokemon league. Only took ~30 years.

T. Boones (Farms) Pickens is dead at 91. Tens of Oklahoma State fans are inconsolable.

I miss Tunnel Walk of Shame. It's been forever since we've had one of those.

State of the B1G Week 1 (so far):
Michigan State: Great Defense (again), crappy offense (again), sloppy undisciplined play (again).
Minnesota: Looked worse in week one than all of last year, but SDSU aren’t exactly Sister Mary Immaculate of the Blind.
Purdue: Nevada is a decent, quality opponent, and Purdue choked away what was looked to be a sure win against them.
Wisky: Looked competent against a hapless USF and an offensive line that made our 2017 line look stellar in comparison. Lots of sloppy play, especially on defense, by Wisky.
So far, not looking too impressive...but the big B1G teams (Nebraska, tOSU, Michigan, Penn State) have yet to go.

The announcers doing the UCLA/Cincy game are an affront to humanity and almost as bad as a HuskerMax ad with the volume on.
-
So Dedrick Mills is being compared to a more refined/efficient Correll Buckhalter. That's pretty good to hear for this season, all things considered.

@Cdog923, s**t, yes I did, my apologies. My attention to detail has been for s**t today.

@VectorVictor No worries, man.

The Boys on Amazon Prime is Justice League gone corporate (and the implied toxic effects that would have) and worth a watch. First episode is great, but certainly earns its MA rating.

What are the best places for KC Barbeque in Kansas City? Wanted to hit one or two at the end of the month here...

@huKSer from Dallas, we're coming up Hwy. 75 and going north on it all the way to I-44, then I-44 east to I-49, then I-49 north to Kansas City.
As for getting there...I'm driving a minivan and I've played Oregon Trail. I'm gonna caulk the van and float it down the river. Hopefully one of the kids doesn't get dysentery before then.
