  1. Sorry, you're right. I see it listed on this site. Try this one: http://www.rajangan.net/
  2. One foggy night, a Nebraska fan and an Oklahoma fan were driving the opposite directions on a road near Lincoln. While crossing a narrow bridge, they hit each other head-on, mangling both cars. The Oklahoma fan manages to climb out of his car and survey the damage. He looks at his twisted car and says, "Man, I'm lucky to be alive!" Likewise, the Nebraska fan gets out of his car uninjured, he too feeling fortunate to have survived. The Oklahoma fan walks over to the Nebraska fan and says, "Hey, man, I think this is a sign that we should put away our petty differences and live as friends instead of being rivals." The Nebraska fan thinks for a moment and says, "You know, you're absolutely right! We should be friends. In fact, I'm going to see if something else survived the wreck." The Nebraska fan then pops open his trunk and removes a full, undamaged bottle of Jack Daniel's. He says to the Oklahoma fan, "I think this is another sign - we should toast to our newfound friendship." The Oklahoma fan agrees and grabs the bottle. After sucking down half of the bottle, the Oklahoma fan hands it back to the Nebraska fan and says, "Your turn!" The Husker fan calmly twists the cap back on the bottle, throws the rest of the bottle over the bridge into the river and says, "Nah, I think I'll just wait for the cops to show up."
  3. Wanted to throw out my opinion on this Callahan situation. I became a Husker fan last year when I had a chance to visit Memorial Stadium. Love the people there and love the state. Even got the chance to make it out to the USC and Mizzou game (wow, was that miserable). However, I've been a lifelong Oakland Raiders fan and I thought I would give you some input and similarities to what is happening now. Now Nebraska folk are some of the nicest people I have ever met, and I understand some of you wanting to honor contracts and continue to give Bill Callahan a chance. If a winning team is not that important to you, than that's fine. There are more important things in life. However, I think UNL is a great source of pride for the residents there and it hurts to watch the program go into this much disarray. In Oakland, we had Jon Gruden building a great program there. He took them out of the cellar in 1998 and steadily built a winning team that went to the playoffs three times including the AFC Championship. Due to contract disputes, Gruden went elsewhere and Callahan was left with a Super Bowl caliber team. Things went well enough with the talent we had. Rich Gannon had an MVP year and we went to the Super Bowl. Callahan was severly outcoached by Jon Gruden and the Bucs and the Raiders were walloped in the Super Bowl. The next year, things completely fell apart. Callahan lost control of the team. There was a good deal of in-fighting and player mutiny. Longtime respected verterans were calling out Callahan. Even Tim Brown, the longest-tenured Raider, has his concerns about Callahan. "I don't know if he's the guy who can bring this team back together," Brown said. "This year, he made things personal with this team. You can't do that. If he's back, it's going to take two to three years to fix this, because nobody trusts a word he says." We proceeded to have one of our worst seasons since 1962 and started breaking all sorts of negative records, similar to the ones you are seeing now with Nebraska. The Raiders have been in a tailspin ever since and only 5 years later are we starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. The Raiders are still several years away, but you can catch my drift on where I see things heading if a change is not made after this year. Now, I'm sure Callahan is a great person off the field and I'm sure this hurts him deeply to watch his team go through this. There are lots of really nice people in the world who are completely inept at their jobs. Doesn't make them bad people, just not right for what they do. Bill Callahan is not the right person for this job anymore. He is not the guy who is going to be able to turn this around. You can just look at the sideline and know this is ture. Maybe he just inherited an above-average team and was able to ride the wave in a weak Big 12 North for the past few years. I can't think of one big win on his resume. Now that the North is catching up, Nebraska is getting exposed and continually being embarrassed on a week-to-week basis. It kills me to watch these beatings every week and I wonder if it really needs to be this way. If it wasn't for Pederson's premature extension this year, I don't think this would even be an issue. It definately calls into question his decision making and ultimately will probably end up costing him his job. Anyways, take this for what it's worth. Thought I'd throw out what I've been thinking of the past few weeks. Just gonna have to suck it up this year and take our lumps. Nebraska is a strong, proud program and we'll be back. My only hope is that it is sooner than later and without Bill Callahan.
  4. Congrats on the baby!! Fortunately, my wife is due a few months later. I'll make sure these go to a Husker fan.
  5. I have two seats for the the USC game that I will be selling if anyone has been looking for great seats for that game. I originally bought 4 tickets off of Ebay for $2236.00. The couple that was supposed to go with my wife and I had to change their plans unexpectedly and I now need to sell these two tickets. They are in Section 26 in Row 24. Right around the 50 yard line. I really want to ensure that these tickets go to a Husker fan as did the seller before me. I am driving in from VA and don't won't to ruin my trip by setting next to a Trojan. Nothing would piss me off more than to find these fall into the hands of a scalper or god forbid a USC fan. I put the Ebay link below if you would like to take a look at the auction. I'm not looking to make any profit on these tickets. I just want to sell them to a Husker fan and make back what I paid. I'll probably throw them back on Ebay on Wednesday with a conditional sale to a Nebraska fan, but I figured I would give someone here first dibs if they we're interested. Anyhow, if you have an interest email me at jp32oak@aol.com EBay Tix GO HUSKERS!!
  6. Funny, just found this story.. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18221404/
  7. What ever happened to Phillips? Did he ever get sentenced for that incident with his car?
  8. Sorry Sooner, I'm stickin' with the Huskers!! This is for you: You know you're from Oklahoma when: You've been on TV more than 5 times describing the sound of a tornado You can't get married to your sweetheart because there's a law against it You've ever climbed a water tower with a bucket of paint to defend your sister's honor Someone asks to see your ID and you show them your belt buckle The Blue Book value of your truck goes up and down depending on the amount of gas in the tank Just having some fun. Found this link though, pretty funny: http://wally83.tripod.com/jokes.html
  9. Thanks everybody!! I wouldn't have expected any differently. Any advice on scooping up some USC tickets? I hate to travel to Lincoln without the tix, but what do you think? Should I buy them ahead of time off of something like Ebay or just try to scalp them when I get there? What are my chances of not getting in if I wait to scalp them when I get there? Thanks!
  10. Quick (kinda) story on why I have decided to become a Husker fan for life: I never was a huge college football fan up until a few years ago. I just never really got into it. Maybe it was becuase I went to a small school in Virginia that did not have a program or maybe I was just way too much into the NFL. However, as I met some new friends that we're into their school's football (one West Virginia and the other Mizzou), I started to casually keep up with it. This year I began to get into it even more and keep up with the conference races, etc.. However, it's different when you don't have an allegiance to a school to really want to keep up with anyone in particular. Then my friend and I decided to go on a road trip this fall to see a couple of games. I live in Northern Virginia and we set a couple of days aside for this. We first stopped by the WVU v. Louisville Thursday night game when it was a top 5 matchup. Great game and neat stadium in Louisville. We then started the long trek to the Nebraska/Mizzou game. We stopped by Columbia on the way there to visit the campus, grab some lunch (Booch's Burgers is amazing if you ever go there) and get some gear for the game. We ended up staying that Friday night near Topeka, KS at the Harrah's casino. Best shoe of blackjack I ever played. Won every single hand and walked out up $800. My buddy got hosed in their shady poker room and left broke. Got up at 4:30 AM and headed to Lincoln to start tailgating. Based on all the games I had watched with my buddy and the Chase Daniel jersey he bought me in Columbia, I was all set to start declaring my allegiance to the Tigers. I fully expected to get shredded by the Nebraska fans, but I figured what the hell and just deal with it. Being to a few WVU games and being at the Oakland Coliseum (yes I am a Raiders fan ), I had seen the worst in how opposing fans get treated. But, I could have never expected what was to come next: First of all, let me start by saying the stadium is by far the most amazing sports stadium anywhere, period. It blows you away when you first pull up. We went to one of the adjacent parking lots to park and asked about where to get tickets, as we had come with none. The lady asked where I was looking to sit and now looking back how stupid this was I said "anywhere around the 50 yard line will work". She laughed and said you won't sniff one anywhere but the upper endzones. She gave me the number of another tailgater who had a few tickets. I asked how much I could expect to pay and she said "face". As in "face value"?? I couldn't believe it. Being on the east coast the only event that you get into for face value is the church league softball game. Once we parked and setup our tailgate, Nebraska fans we're coming over and talking to us, having drinks and we're honestly the nicest people I have ever met in my life. They were helping me get the charcoal grill going and we're sharing stories of past games. I have to say that Nebraska fans know their s*#t when it comes to football. The parking lot was loaded with cool tailgates. Alot of team buses and the "meat wagon" ambulance just to name a few that I remember. Combine that with the sea of Red that I saw when I walked in Memorial Stadium and that was it for me. This is real college football and I decided that the Chase Daniel jersey was better used as a seat cushion the rest of the game. So I'm in. This is the coolest team with the nicest, most intelligent fans that I've seen and I'm looking forward to coming to the USC and Ball State games this year. I'll also be going to the Mizzou game with my buddy again this year. However, let's make it clear that I don't expect the same hospitality I got in Lincoln due to the fact I'll be sporting a Nebraska jersey in Columbia. Figured I would post this since it's kind of a dead period right now. Keep up all the good posts. I enjoy reading them. You guys are the best. Go Big Red!!
