  1. what about crick and emart? im really thinking this duo could be extra special nasty stopput! I'm drooling!
  2. Why does there have to be another reason? I'm sure the words she uses are just fine, but I don't really care. The sound of a woman's voice announcing football annoys me, and probably 98% of other football fans out there too. No, just hers.
  3. Ok, thanks. I guess the 'new math' screwed me up. I was confused how 30 missing scholarships equated to 10 fewer scholarship players on the roster.
  4. Ok, maybe I'm over thinking things, but if they are allowed 75 scholarship players at any given time, how does that really hurt them at all? It's just 10 fewer than most. I realize they can sign only 15 new guys a year, but what's to prevent them from awarding a walk-on with a scholarship to get up to 75 -- are they allowed to do things like that? If so, then what would prevent them from cheating and getting kids to grey shirt or something only not call it a grey shirt. Ok, I'm done asking questions because I need to get some damned work done now. :-)
  5. I was one of the only 2 that voted that they are in better shape. Their roster is loaded and will likely continue to be that way. True that Tressel's attempted cover-up is what will bring the hammer down, but there are kids who will still bleed to play on the team, regardless. The only way this will have a huge impact is if the next coaching staff is sub-par. You know, like Kiffin at USC. They are still pulling in highly regarded kids with the scholarships they have, and if I recall correctly, they "lose" 10 per year, but still allowed to have 75 scholarship players on the roster at any given time. To me, that really boils down to 10 scholarships missing... unless i am way off base. Teams that can pull in the highly regarded players are fine, as long as they get proper coaching. Unfortunately, it takes extra work to convince a kid to come to a bad situation at Nebraska than it does to somewhere else with a "bad situation", like OSU or USC. Please school me if I have misunderstood the scholarship situation.
  6. Something within fairly easy driving distance of ME, so *I* can go to it (Rutgers, Maryland, Navy, Pitt, Syracuse). Cuz, it's all about ME!
  7. EXACTLY RIGHT!!! Except, no one in the AD is putting out a big ad campaign about beating specifically OSU. That was a stupid move, and a recipe for exactly what happened, IMO. Plus, it made us sound like Colorado, circling that one game on the calendar.
  8. Hell no. This D-bag is going to be your textbook moron who burns through money as fast as it comes in and finds himself out of football at 30-35, and broke within 2 years after that. Uh, no. I don't see him even lasting a year, if at all. Not until he grows the hell up. Yeah, I know the NFL isn't exactly dotted with model citizens, but this kid is a special breed all by himself.
  9. Wow, I knew he'd had his issues but I never knew he had made these accusations. Pretty telling NOW!!! I'm sure in the past they just passed it off as "sour grapes" or the revenge factor, and dismissed his credibility altogether. Plus, that's probably what led Tressel to feel the need to lie/cover up this time around -- he probably felt guilty and didn't want another situation like Clarette happening again.
  10. Po is exactly right. They're attention whores. That's the way to cut them off - stop giving them publicity.
  11. I noticed many of the Buckeye fans have the same exact mentality we did in 2003 -- "We can get any coach, this is their dream job". While they would be the destination job for many coaches under IDEAL circumstances, history is just not on their side with getting the sexy name coach.
  12. LINK I didn't think it was possible, but he is now officially dumber than I originally thought.
  13. I saw that too, kc - it's a big, "I dare you!" Either that, or he is even dumber than I originally thought. He was also quoted somewhere as saying that he basically didn't care that Tressel got fired. Note to other coaches who turn blind eyes to these types of indiscretions: Make sure the players receiving extra benefits are a little more intelligent than a box of rocks, or at least cover your own damned paper trail.
  14. Jason Peter as the DC. LP has been released from prison to complete his four year career at NU. And Trev takes TO's spot in the office.
  15. Things coming out about OSU just got me to thinking that Nebraska has got to make sure similar types of things aren't happening in Lincoln. If Boise State can get lack of institutional control for some (what I consider) teeny tiny things, it makes a person wonder just how much goes on elsewhere that can be flagged.
  16. Or call him a spoiled brat and a sore loser, as many have called Martinez. My response to both of these posts: I missed the part where he ever acted wishy washy, spoiled, or immature. That is what separates these other two situations with the Green situation. He has always been a team player, mature, works hard, and has made informed decisions.
  17. They have a good punter (or decent enough) - but would like to see Henery get a shot at it.
  18. My sentiments exactly, just because it would be fun. Juvenile as hell, but I'm the first to admit it.
  19. I watch just about any game I can, but won't be doing that this fall.
  20. Ok, finally found where I did read it: In the end, Blakely’s high school position coach – former Gators back Rod Frazier – said Blakely got homesick.
