once again, two of my 17 very favorite teams are playing each other. going to be a stressful weekend.

i trust my feelings first and foremost. but if my feelings are a little nebulous, then you gotta go with beliefs. however, if your beliefs fail you, and that is a BIG if, i guess you can trust your thoughts. but i am not always completely comfortable with that. like what if i am hungry? then my thoughts might not be focused or accurate. but that is generally the order of knowledge i trust.

i like every team that played neb in '95, all the teams in mississippi because i lived there for a year. i might be forgetting a few.

how many favorite teams are too many? i have 17 very favorite college football teams and it may be too many. especially since nary a weekend goes by where at least two do not play each other. how many very favorite football teams do you guys have and how many is too many?

because bowls for 7-5 teams or even 9-3 teams are so elite?

I've seen this idea brought up a couple different places. Can someone tell my why Trev Alberts would be qualified to be an AD at Nebraska? And "he played at Nebraska" doesn't count. most fans here think the ad and president are already trying to sabotage football, just as well get a guy who outright ended a program.

is it bad to hope the huskers can make it to a bowl? not on my watch. i wish them as many opportunities to play and win. if they go bowling and get extra practices and time to bond, i will be all for it.

him and valentine are studs, but they seem to be lacking in the effort department. which is extremely concerning. Do you have any empirical evidence to support this or are you just throwing sh*t against the wall hoping no one calls you out again? i think they can perform better than they have. i do not know how to prove that with empirical evidence. it is my assumption. unfortunately for you, intelligence can be empirically quantified.

We all want the team to go bowling every season. But if we fail to break even, that shouldn't be rewarded. Same goes for all 128 teams out there. i disagree. someone's going bowling and if they say we deserve it, i say let the team play and bond. it can only help.

what empirical evidence do you have that collins isn't dumb? and if you are on a team getting a free education, it does not matter what you think, only what the coaches think. His bio says he is a 2014 Academic All Big Ten and is on the 2015 Spring Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. So probably not dumb. And I agree with your second line. i assumed someone was going to point to a high gpa or something. just took the risk no one cared enough. but nonetheless, whether someone buys in or not should never be an issue.

If Nebraska goes 7-5, they go on a 4 game winning streak and beat #6 MSU and #10 Iowa. If that happens, they definitely earned a bowl appearance. Same if they go 6-6. 5-7 will wins against Purdue and Rutgers... ...pass. If they go 6-6 with a win over MSU or Iowa I have no issue with them getting a bowl game. I don't like it, I think it waters fown the whole bowl experience because technically 6-6 isn't a winning season. Technically not a losing season either but you get the point. The money hungry ESPN machine has made up so many pointless bowl games an underacvhieving 5-7 team gets to participatr. We do not deserve a bowl for that. i would like to see you walk up to our seniors or tommy or westerkamp or any of the other players who lay it on the line every goddamn day for this team, this school, and these fans that they do not deserve a bowl game. Does a 5-7 Nebraska deserve a bowl more than say an 8-4 East Carolina? Probably not. But because Nebraska is a better draw, they will get the invite. Very true, lots of things wanted by lots of different people. i have a hard time believing this board is representative of much else than the few regular posters' opinions. Don't kid yourself, I have 2 brothers who have 2 completely different ideas of what is wrong with this team than what I think. They never post on message boards.
