  1. So who is taking over for Gary Sharp?

Agreed. Ravi is fine, but the lean towards Husker coverage will be much appreciated. Happer is good. His show with Schaefer sure didn't last long.

Agreed, that was a bit strange.  I enjoyed The Recruiting Hour and the two of them have good chemistry and so when I saw they were going with a longer show I thought, "Hey, that's great."  Then I read the show was kaput and thought that was weird.  Now, perhaps the 1620 opportunity came about at the 11th hour and that was the catalyst for the show ending?  Maybe I'll jump on Twitter and see if I can find anything.

@Xmas32 I think it's moreso the latter; Mike'l leaving 1620 again came out of nowhere, IMO.

  2. What's going on with Mike'l Severe? Seen some tweets referencing him leaving 1620?

Severe wanted to find an opportunity outside of sports. The opportunities fell through. By the time he reached back out to 1620 to stay they were already to far down the replacement process.

We can get it in 2004.  Or any year after that, when a pass play doesn't work. chuckleshuffle

Baseball is a fickle sport.  Even the best teams will go into a slump.  It's how soon they come out of it that's the issue.  Hopefully Nebraska is headed now to finish strong.

    4. Loebarth

      Loebarth

Wow!! Gotta say that maybe you should do as i do.. wait for the game to finish before actually deciding if you want to listen.. I'm a horrible fan.. yell at the tv, get frustrated with the game and just all around bad fan. So I've learned I enjoy being a fan much more by reading the post game before deciding to watch. I know... I know... gotta do it to keep my blood pressure down. lol

  5. I hope Nebraska baseball isn't teasing us....

It's early, but the baseball team looks to be much improved.  They simply have better players than they have in the past decade or so.  That said, what year-end result would fans be happy with?

    4. B.B. Hemingway

      B.B. Hemingway

I'd be happy with a B1G Championship. Haha.

  6. I wonder if a Nebraska Athletics men's team will ever be good again.

      I AM FOOT FOOT

Don't they have a decent to good wrestling team? Basketball always sucked and football ain't coming back to the glory days

  7. Gronk as the first TD at +1400 was a good bet!

    1. JJ Husker

      JJ Husker

You shush up. My wife wanted to make that bet and I sort of talked her out if it because, at the time, she also didn't think he'd catch more than 2 balls. It was +1800 on my site. She did cash him for a TD and for over 2.5 receptions. She did better than I did yesterday. Luckily it was on my account.

  8. You thought UCF fans disliked Nebraska & Frost, now Tennessee took their AD & coach! Haha.

If they want to keep winning they have no choice but to get used to it.  Or they can join the ACC and it would happen slightly less frequently.

  9. If Bienemy doesn't get a head job, remember Twitter after that 4th down call. No mention of Bienemy, because everyone knows Reid (and Mahomes) is what makes that offense go. Bienemy is OC by title only. I'm sure NFL owners are well aware of that as well.

@B.B. HemingwayI didn’t necessarily say Bienemy is arrogant, and I really don’t know what he’s like now. I just know that he didn’t leave CU on good terms.  As far as the NFL, I’d be willing to bet that white billionaires aren’t exactly looking for “an angry black man” as a face of their franchise.

    3. B.B. Hemingway

      B.B. Hemingway

      That's quite the blanket statement.

    4. ColoradoHusk

      ColoradoHusk

I don’t have leanings either way regarding black coaches being hired in the NFL, and I think owners should hire the best candidate.  However, the hiring trends among minority coaches in the NFL aren’t the best.  Here’s more commentary on the issue.

  10. My favorite part of Frost's presser was him bragging about this program's s#!t culture.

I must have been watching a different presser today.  I didn't see any bragging.

    3. B.B. Hemingway

      B.B. Hemingway

Bragging probably wasn't the right way to describe it.... A little arrogant about his culture when discussing why he wouldn't likely take transfers.

    4. ZRod

      ZRod

Didn't see the presser, but I think Frost's biggest mistake has been relying on the players to uphold and drive the culture. That works great in an established program, but this thing was in shambles. The team needed tough love and discipline.

There were no strong personalities to drive results. Scott loves to talk about JP, Wistrom, and those guys but there hasn't been anyone close to them leadership or personality wise on these teams. When you transition you need a strong and involved leader at the very top.

I admire his approach in wanting this to be the players team and have them drive to get results but it's definitely not a quick fix; and in hindsight it wasn't the right approach.

Everybody is different.  The last time I wasn't thrilled about a game was 9/23/2017... when we played, Rutgers.

    4. Decoy73

      Decoy73

Yep.  The 2017 Rutgers game.  Didn't watch, Didn't listen, Didn't care if we won.  Rock bottom for me.  I'm disappointed now, but it's not near how I felt in 2017.  I'll still be watching and cheering Friday.

Not sure what to say. Not even sure how I feel. Just completely unsure of everything right now. Really thought we'd win this one. What a disastrous game!!!

Should have stayed in the Big 12.

  17. I would love to see some kind of movement among Nebraska fans (and media members I suppose) to unfollow, and unsubscribe from national media members, and outlets. Nicole Auerbach (?) is....something.

I'd like to see a movement where people ignore know nothing blowhards who post drivel only to get clicks. Anybody following these people is the problem.

Disclosure: I don't follow anyone (and I mean anyone) so I'm not part of this problem.

  18. Outside of just really, really wanting it to work with him, I don't know the argument for keeping Frost employed. Is there one?

Yeah, I should've specified no center named Cam instead of being hyperbolic. Give me a break though, two hours ago (about the time of CTB's muff fumble) we wouldn't have had any player named Cam left on the team

What absolutely boggles my mind is we haven't had a long QB TD run from either guy, but specifically Luke. He's doesn't seem T Mart fast.

What blows my mind is 2 passing TDs all year. W.T.F.

    4. knapplc

      knapplc

@ZRod This is a blue collar league. You start a bunch of Freshmen, they're going to get eaten alive.

Kinda like this year so far. What was the stat they showed during the game? _____ so much of our production this year has come from Freshmen?

The coaches are getting raked for losing the games we've lost. They're trying to win a few games here & there. But if they bench everyone with experience, they get killed in every game.

  19. Did the 90's hurt the national media's feelings that bad? A lot of them seem to go out of their way to bash Nebraska on the ol Twitter machine.

    1. TonyStalloni

      TonyStalloni

Sports writers love to pour adulation onto a team at the top of the heap. When a team has a long run of success  it is natural to start rooting against them. Alabama was a darling for several years. When Clemson knocked them off they took over as media darlings. Last year more people rooted for LSU over Clemson. Nebraska won 3 championships in 5 years (and it could easily have been 5 in 5 years). When our fortunes started to wane, we as fans kept insisting we were royalty when we haven't been since 2002. That might have chapped a few in the media toward the Huskers.

  20. Cole Payton should be asked to stay home, imo.

Frost cares, let's see if its enough to give up play calling and coming up with an actual game plan

  22. Should be an entertaining day. No matter who wins, try to remember that in this country, life is what you make of it. Opportunity is there for everyone, no matter who sits in the oval office.

  23. It took Mel Tucker 2 games to get a signature win.... *Sigh*

    1. teachercd

He also has a signature loss!

  24. I'm probably in the minority here, but with Nebraska's late start, and now with the delay, I couldn't give two s#!ts about the rest of college football.

When everything shut down in the spring I realized how much of my time was being wasted watching sports. There is really no reason for me to watch games with teams that have nothing to do with the teams I root for....and even those teams, if they suck, why would I watch it?
