  1. Looks like this one could turn ugly if KSU doesn't score some points. 15-0 all Oregon right now
  2. You hear so many sad stories about ex-athletes. It's great to find an inspirational story like this one. Maybe the world won't end after all.

  4. Pretty good SI article. It's easy to underestimate the role of assistant coaches. The head coach is all we ever hear about in the news.
  5. Usually he's sort of a dick. But this is a surprisingly good article by Doyel the Mohel.
  6. Johnny Depp gets all the great roles. Correction, Johnny Depp creates all the great roles. :

  9. If these rumors are true about Bo leaving for Tennessee, who would you want? Feel free to mention any that I may have missed. I honestly don't know who I would want, but I compiled a list of pretty good candidates. My top 5 in no particular order would be Petersen, Davis, Gundy, Malzahn, and Strong. I think I would be leaning toward 1) Petersen and 2) Davis Both have proved to be good head coaches. My only issue with Davis is his messy history at UNC with recruiting. I don't know specifics behind any of that, but it is a blemish on his resume. Obviously, Petersen would be a good hire. He knows how to win big games and be flexible in his schemes so that it fits the personnel on his team. What say you?
  10. Okay, I have an engineering degree (UNL) and have taken several statistics courses. Everything I've read and studied tells me there is no such thing as "luck". That is, you can't get on a hot streak (or cold streak) so that the dice, cards etc. favor you (or disfavor you). But, damn, from experience it sure seems like a guy can have hot and cold streaks.
  11. Kind of a cool article. Read More: http://sportsillustr...l#ixzz2DioVbejz

But nailed some of the coin flip-ish games (Ohio State over Michigan, Oklahoma over Oklahoma State, Stanford over UCLA, etc.). This week's picks: Rutgers over Louisville, Northern Illinois over Kent State, Stanford over UCLA, Oklahoma over TCU, Boise State over Nevada, Cincinnati over UConn, Kansas State over Texas, FSU over Georgia Tech, Wisconsin over Nebraska, Pittsburgh over South Florida, West Virginia over Kansas. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/page/BMOC-112712/bmoc-surveys-bcs-campaigning-firing-season-realignment-next-move-college-football

  18. No. 14 NEBRASKA at IOWA Brian Bennett: Iowa needs a hero and will be holding out for one until the end of the night. Not happening. Nebraska is on a roll right now, and will push around a Hawkeyes team that has little to play for and no ability to keep up with the Huskers on the scoreboard. Taylor Martinez puts up one last argument for Big Ten offensive player of the year honors with 100 yards rushing and 200 yards passing as Nebraska punches its ticket to Indy. ... Nebraska 38, Iowa 17 Adam Rittenberg: As you wrote last week, there's no stopping the Huskers now. Bo Pelini's team knows what it needs to do, and everyone has taken care of business against Iowa's flat-lining defense in recent weeks. Martinez continues his major awards push with four total touchdowns (three passing, one rushing), and RB Ameer Abdullah adds a long scoring run as Nebraska leads throughout and earns the right to represent the Legends Division at the championship game. ...
