  1. Got here yesterday afternoon at about 3 pm local time. We're staying at the Omni Hotel, and can see Lucas Oil Field about two blocks from our room. There were a ton of people in red checking in. Seems to be way more Nebraska fans. We checked out Fan Fest and not much seemed to be happening yet so we started to start drinking. We went to a brew pub named Ram Brewpub. The Imperial IPA is strong. Sat next time some guys wearing Minnesota clothes. One joked that they booked their trip when they took down Nevada in OT because they assumed they would make it. We next walked across the street to the famous St. Elmo steakhouse. We didnt have reservations so we just got there early and sat at the bar. Started with scotch and their signature appetizer, the sinus-clearing and eye-watering shrimp cocktail. Harvey Perlman came in around 6. I was going to ask for a picture, but then he disappeared. I was hoping ESPN B1G blogger Adam Ritttenberg would show up so I could tell him what an idiot he is, but I didn't see him despite later seeing the tweets that he planned to go. Had a steak and then we headed out. By this time we had been drinking about 6 hours so the rest of the night was a little fuzzy. My first impression is that Indy knows how to roll out the red carpet for an event like this and it is a big enough town to do it right, but small enough that it doesn't become irrelevant with everything else going on. Most of the Wisconsin fans we've met have been fine though we did meet several of the stereotypical types. After the game tonight it should get interesting....
