5) Favorite Husker memory?

A few I always enjoy when I think of them...

A) Couple of my buddies and I saw Scott Frost in a hot tub on spring break with a chick at about 3 am after the bars. We yelled at him..."Hey Frost, remember this...Boo Boo". Very dumb, but it cracks me up.

B) This 40 year old guy and his wife were in the student section by us. We always bring the cheapest bottle of whisky to the games. He asked us if we had any "juice". We got this guy so drunk, his wife left him at half time.

C) Crouch catching the pass from Stuntz. Man that was crazy. My buddies and I had been drinking in the stands since the start of College Game Day. By the time that happened, we were just going nuts! Definitely one of the best days of my life.

6) Worst Husker memory?

A) My parking permit got stolen my junior year from Deion Booker (jerk). He had a brand new pimped out Tahoe from his brother Michael and couldn't spring $80 for his own parking permit!

B) Texas game a few years ago when we could have gone to overtime but Solich called for one more play and Lord got intercepted. My seats were right on the corner where he got picked. That was when I knew Solich had to go.

C) K State game 2 years ago. We left the game in the 4th qtr to hit the bars cause the game stunk so bad. We got to the bars and ABC had changed the game to a Purdue game in Lincoln. That sucked!

1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation?

28 years

2) What/who led you to The Nation?

My grandpa would watch every game and bitch about how Osborne just couldn't win the big game. He loved them so much, and it just killed him to see them lose those few games each year.

3) Where are you from originally?

Scottsbluff, NE.

4) Where do you live now?

Lincoln

5) Favorite Husker memory?

1. NU-OU 2001. Greatest game I've ever witnessed live. I was in the student section, drinking 'the juice' when pandemonium broke out as Crouch caught the TD pass.

2. D-ing up Tommy Frazier on the basketball court. During a pick-up game, I got stuck guarding him and he tried to clear everyone out so he could 'take the white boy to the hole'. He brought it and I blocked it clean. My team still lost, but I outscored him 6-2 in a game to 11. Still probably the most points I've ever scored in a bball game in my life.

3. The 1st title, when Schlesinger fell into the endzone. I wasn't there, but it was still a moment I'll never forget.

6) Worst Husker memory?

Brook Berringer dying.

7) Number of home games attended?

30-40

8) Number of away games attended?

5

9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel?

My Husker shoes

10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.) Student section. I have season tickets 24 rows above the tunnel, and I still make my way over to the student section so I can stand the whole game and listen to idiot women rooting for the QB to hit a home run.

11) Favorite all time player?

Ahman Green

12) WCO or Option?

TO's Option, but since I'll never see it again I have to go for the WCO.

13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne?

SP. Byrne was a piece of sh#t. Kept trying to move the students farther and farther away from the game.

14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker?

Lil Red standing on his head

15) Favorite Husker play?

Tommie Frazier's TD pass at CU in 1995, with a guy hanging on to his legs, he just wouldn't go down.

16) Favorite game-day beverage?

Canadian whisky at the game, Bud Light when the game's on TV.

17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source)

1. My first game was in 1950, have no idea who we played, I know my mom and dad took me when I was 3. So that would make it nearly 55 years.

2. Ron or Tom Poggemeyer gave me a jersey when I lived behind them in Nebraska City.

3. Nebraska City.

4. Idlywild, California

5. The year we tied SC 21/21. Knowing we were on to something big.

6. Brooks untimely passing.

7. I really do no know, but quite a few.

8. 25 at least

9. A plaster football and tee that proclaims Nebraska #1 70 and 71.

10. Anywhere I can see one.

11. Brook Berringer, he made me believe.

12. What ever it takes to win.

13. Steve Pederson. His actions loved or hated are only in the best interest of the football program. Whether right or wrong he is willing to make tough hard nosed decessions and stand behind them. Don't personally like him, but he is doing the job the way it needs to be done.

14. Steve Pederson, same deal lil Red is doing the job. He is bringing in new young fans. He is the favorite mascot in the country. Guess you got to love him. I am trying. Sure does not stand up to USC or FSU's mascot though.

15. None or too many come to mind.

16. Diet Pepsi/Hot chocalate.

17. Pillen

Just wanted to introduce myself - I've lived in PA for 22 years after living in Kearney for 3 (when I was in 2nd thru 4th grade - very formative years!) Just found out today that I have tickets to the Pitt game this fall - my first game ever, and a big relief that I won't have to drive 1,200 miles wondering if I can get a ticket (Still thanking my wife every day for allowing a "road trip") I haven't been back since 1983 - I can't wait!! I'll be traveling with a Pitt fan - can't wait for him to experience the legendary Husker hospitality. We're planning on getting into town either on Thursday night or Friday morning - I know it's still a long way off, but any suggestions on how to make the most of my Husker weekend (it took 22 years to find somebody willing to make the trip out with me - who knows when I'll be out again!) Looking forward to being a asset tothe board!

Hi Everyone!

I am a proud Husker fan since age 8. I'm 42 now. My family left Nebraska when I was only an infant, but my father (God Bless him) raised me on Cornhusker football. I always felt it was one of the greatest gifts he ever gave me. I grew up in Los Angeles and after making my homecoming visit to my hometown of Fremont 33 years later, I felt cheated of being raised in the greatest state in the country. While I grew up elsewhere, I AM A NEBRASKAN and my heart will always belong to my homestate.

1) How long have you been a member of Husker Nation?

A: Since age 8.

2) What/who led you to The Nation?

A: My father

3) Where are you from originally?

A: Fremont, Nebraska

4) Where do you live now?

A: Everett, WA

5) Favorite Husker memory?

A: It's a toss-up...Winning the national championship against our 80's nemesis the Miami Hurricanes in 1994 and Clete Pillen's recovery of Billy Sim's fumble on the Husker 2-yd line in the closing minutes of the 1978 OU-NU game. His fumble recovery preserved the Husker win.

6) Worst Husker memory?

A: Toss-up too...Turner Gill's pass tipped away while going for two and the national championship during the 1984 Orange Bowl or Penn State's win in the 1982 match-up and the "extended endzone" call by the refs.

7) Number of home games attended?

A: Fullfilled a lifelong dream in 1998 by attending my first home game. I'll never forget it and want to return again for another one.

8) Number of away games attended?

A: Two...Unfortunately my first was Troy Aikman and the UCLA Bruins dismantling of the Husker defense in Pasadena in 1988 and the Huskers win in Seattle against the Washington Huskies in 1997.

9) Favorite Husker memorabilia/apparel?

A: I love all of my ballcaps...I wear them with great pride.

10) Favorite place to watch a Husker game? (section in Memorial, bar, friends house etc.)

A: Obviously, my first pick would be anywhere in Memorial Stadium...heck I'll take the nosebleed section...just want to be with "family." My second choice would be The Lucky Seven Bar & Grill...the watchsite for all Husker fans in Washington State.

11) Favorite all time player?

A: Boy..that's tough but if I had to say it would either be my childhood hero Johnny Rodgers or more recently Brook Berringer. Brook embodied everything that is Nebraska football--class, sportsmanship, hard work, and a willingness to do whatever was best for the team. He was a class-act and he is still sorely missed.

12) WCO or Option?

While I prefer smashmouth option football, I think defenses have gotten quicker and are finding ways to defend the option game making it more difficult to win with it. I always wanted Nebraska to mix it up more so I'll have to side with WCO. I would like to see our strong running game preserved and the tradition of having great Husker running backs preserved.

13) Stevie Pederson or Billy Byrne?

A: Steve Pederson

14) Lil Red or Herbie Husker?

A: It's gotta be Herbie Husker....Lil Red's a little on the cute side for me.

15) Favorite Husker play?

A: There was nothing like seeing an option pitch go 80 yards for a TD especially if the pulling guard laid someone out and the receivers took out their man.

16) Favorite game-day beverage?

A: Red beer

17) How did you find HuskerBoard? (referral source)

A: As mentioned earlier, I can't remember...sorry!
