ELITE 11 AWARDS!!!

Recommended Posts

I was able to attend the Elite 11 QB camp. I already posted in the main football forum that Blaine Gabbert won MVP and Best Arm. Here are the awards which were read aloud at the conclusion of the camp. My understanding was the awards were voted on by the coaches at the camp as well as the current college QB counselors at the camp which included Chase Daniel (Missouri), Colt Brennan (Hawaii), Mark Sanchez (USC), Nate Longshore (Cal), and Chad Henne (Michigan). On most of the awards they just gave one name but on others they listed who was second, third, etc.

MVP 2007

1) Blaine Gabbert (Nebraska)

2) (Tie) E.J. Manuel (Florida State)

Mike Glennon (NC State)

4) Jacory Harris (Miami)

I agree on Gabbert and Manuel...but I liked Landry Jones, Dayne Crist, and Andrew Luck over Glennon and Harris from what I saw (I got to see most of the practices on all 4 days).

Best Arm

1) Blaine Gabbert (Nebraska)

2) Kyle Parker (Clemson)

3) Landry Jones (Oklahoma)

Most Accurate

1) Landry Jones (Oklahoma)

Jones was on fire in the accuracy contests on Days 3 and 4 (he won the accuracy contest on Day 4 which led to him being named most accurate Elite 11 QB at the camp).

Best Leader

1) E.J. Manuel (Florida State)

Best In Chalk

1) Dayne Crist (Notre Dame)

Best Feet

1) Jacory Harris (Miami)

2) Star Jackson (Uncommitted)

Most Consistent

1) Nick Crissman (UCLA)

Most Coachable

1) Andrew Luck (Stanford)

2) Kyle Parker (Clemson)

Most Likely To Win A National Championship

1) E.J. Manuel (Florida State)

Most Likely To Play First

1) Mike Glennon (NC State)

2) Blaine Gabbert (Nebraska)

Most Likely To Succeed In College

1) Sean Renfree (Georgia Tech)

Happiest Camper

1) John Wienke (Michigan)

These were the awards read at the conclusion of the camp for the Elite 11 QB's. There was also a separate award given each day for the most accurate. At the end of each day there was the EA Sports Golden Gun Accuracy Challenge where QB's had to run to various spots on the field and throw at targets both long and short. The winner of this competition was awarded the golden yellow jersey each day for winning this fun competition. The winners of the camp for this award were:

Golden Gun Daily Accuracy Winners:

Day 1 - Aaron Murray (a junior-to-be QB from Tampa, FL...he will be one to watch as he was very accurate throughout the camp)

Day 2 - Chase Daniel (current QB at Missouri)

Day 3 - Chad Henne (current QB at Michigan)

Day 4 - Landry Jones (Elite 11 QB recruit for Oklahoma)
