1) What are your first impressions of this recruit (speed, strength, character, leadership, grades, etc)?

Ridiculous speed and ball skills.

2) Rank his importance to the Huskers 1-10 (10 the most important).

9. Bigtime safeties are killer in today's college football, Leon can be a real impact maker.

3) Will he contribute right away? In what capacity?

He'll be starting by midseason in Josh Bullocks's spot.

4) Who does this player most remind you of?

Brian Dawkins.

5) Where do you see this player in 2009?

First round pick as a safety.

Supreme athlete, sorely needed at NU

6

3) Will he contribute right away? In what capacity?

Depends on what position he lands in. If he ends up in the secondary, which is my guess, he will contribute quite alot, and if not, it may take a little while.

4) Who does this player most remind you of?

Chris Gamble

1) What are your first impressions of this recruit (speed, strength, character, leadership, grades, etc)?

As far as speed goes, second to none. This guy is flat out, endzone to endzone fast. As for strength, at first glance on his highlight video, he appears to be extremely strong, but upon further review, you can actually see that alot of his broken tackles are the result of tremendous balance and the ability to bounce off of tackles instead of run through them, which I think is a more important ability at the college and pro level than pure strength (see Ahman Green) He seems to be a very competitive guy and a very vocal leader and as far as his grades go, he seems to be struggling, but once (if) he gets here, Im not too worried. There is a reason we have more academic all americans than anyother school in the country. When was the last time you remeber a player on Nebraska be academically inelegible?

2) Rank his importance to the Huskers 1-10 (10 the most important).

10 if he plays safety due to his ability to come in and contribute right away, and 8 if he plays RB, only because of our great depth there, not because he wouldnt be great anyways.

3) Will he contribute right away? In what capacity?

If he plays safety, he can come in and start right away, ala Fabian or Ralph Brown. If he plays IB, he still doesnt redshirt, but doesnt see the field very much.

4) Who does this player most remind you of?

A more upright (he has to work on that) Ahman Green type runner.

5) Where do you see this player in 2009?

Coul be in the NFL if he plays safety, or could be part of a two headed, sick house, omg backfield with Lucky(unless he leaves early ;) )

Appears Leon is closer to qualifying than most people thought!  What great news to start my weekend!

ANy updates???

Just recently read that he only needs 40 points on the SAT, and he's been studying diligently to make sure this happens. Listening to this guy speak, he seems like a rather intelligent kid, so there doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.

Of course, things could always go wrong.

he doesnt project well into the wide receiver postition, so that is unlikely. He has all of the speed of a wide receiver, but his hands are a little questionable even at the running back position. He also likes playing facing the whole field and reading and reacting, hence playing safety in high school instead of corner, and putting him at receiver would take away from his field vision and his abilty to make the big play.
