HELP finding seats! (NOT porn!)

Recommended Posts

Hey, I just bought two tickets to NU vs Baylor from a friend. I've never been to Lincoln... Never been to an organized team event (other than high school stuff you know...). This will be my one and only trip to watch my beloved Huskers and I really want to make this as stress free as possible. My tix are not student tickets, but I was wondering if there is a website that will show me WHERE to go (I always have people TELLING where I should 'go', but this time I'm listening!). Like, the tickets say:

Gate 10, sec 31, row 23, and a seat number. How early do I need to show up before game time to ensure I'll be able to walk and get to my seats, is this like going to DIA where your flight leaves at 5pm, so arrive like 3 hours early!!??? What's the scoop, you veteran game goers??? Can ye help a poor miserable husker fan?

I've been to at least 2 games a year for the last 6 years or so. Being your first time in Lincoln, allow yourself plenty of time to get from Hotel to Stadium / downtown area. Once there, you will want to walk around and take in the atmosphere. Walk around the stadium, check out the Pavillion, and maybe catch the Unity Walk. There isn't really a need to be in your seats more than 30 mins before kickoff, unless you want to watch all the team warmups. Hope this helps you out. There will be so many things for you to see, you'll be in awe, make sure you take the time before the game to take it all in. Congrats on the tickets, and have a great time. btw i'll be at that game as well so if you get lost look for the guy in Red!

I think that you can see a map of memorial stadium at huskers.com. We are usually in Lincoln EARLY...we like to take in the game day atmosphere. The stadium opens 90 minutes before kickoff so you watch the warm-ups and stuff! It is fun to watch the stadium fill up! We always go in 90 minute before...but you wouldn't have to! You don't want to miss the pre-game festivities like the tunnel walk and band...which starts about 30 minutes before kickoff! I hope this helps! Have a great time!!

I think we got into the game at 5:50 last weekend...and that was fine.

The longer you wait, the longer it will take you to get through the crowds. Definitely get to Lincoln plenty early enough though, especially to park and walk around the stadium. Traffic is crazy on game day down there. And you'll definitely want to walk around the stadium/school, go see the weight room, look at the trophies, etc.

Not as hard as you might think. Go on Fri night and spend some time at Misty's north. The pep band will stop by the bar and lots of Husker Stuff too. Buy a 12 pack and some ice and join a tailgate somewhere. Get to the stadium in time for the Tunnel Walk (your hair will stand up on the back of your neck). Stay for every play. Enjoy yourself, you'll be with 85,000 of your closest friends.

I usually park over by Cather/Pound/Neihardt Hall southeast of the stadium and walk through campus or over by the Devany Center at some kind of indian reservation thing-a-ma-bob. Park garages are also avalible downtown, as is all the parking lots on campus. The lots closest to the stadium are reserved for the people with permits. Get to the area early enough, you will have no problem finding parking. Here is a link that shows parking: http://www.huskers.com//pdf4/132886.pdf

By the way, where you comming from?
