That is what the stadium is going to look like permanently if Bo remains head coach and keeps running us into the ground...

Just curious, it has been a long time since I have been to the stadium, with this new expansion, are we now maxed out on expansion space or is it possible for a later date? IF we are able to expand which area would it be in?

As far as capacity, I can't see them ever adding more than another 6k seats, and that seems like an absolute maximum.... But as far as possible expansions, I think I remember when they did the North-Stadium expansion they said they left options & ground-work for further expansion on the North end-zone (thats the way I interpreted it anyway).... IDK what they meant by that exactly, but it could mean that they could add 2k seats on either side of the suit-box or simply that they could re-place the big-screen with a bigger-big-screen or something. Or maybe they add another level of suits on-top of the current suits when they replace the current big-screen. IDK, those are just some of my ideas of what they could expand on next.

I'd be a little surprised if they do anything to south-stadium in the next wave of possible expansion.

South stadium would seem to be the most logical to me.... What makes you believe otherwise?

Haha. I understand I don't post on here enough for my views to be widely known, but I thought the outlandishness of the comment would lead most to recognize the sarcasm. For those not able to catch on, yes, I was just kidding.

I went to the Heisman Room in North Stadium this last weekend and the guy there said the self guided tour is currently closed due to the area being a hard hat area only but would be reopening in September. Just thought I would pass this info along as I always like taking friends and family from out of town there when in Lincoln.

Cellular service is AWFUL inside the stadium. I would love this. Post pictures, check scores, etc.

Every time I see "wifi" my mind goes in multiple directions. One man (woman or child) ruined the recruiting board and wireless interlinking.

How many Big 10 schools have hockey as official university sports?
Also, doesn't UNO have a good team? I bet they'll play a game or two in Lincoln this year.

I think the B1G has 6. UW, OSU, PSU, Michigan, Minnesota, MSU.

And UNO is above average, but they wont be playing in Lincoln this year.

CB3 on ESPN front page:

LINCOLN, Neb. -- If all goes according to Dennis Molfese's plan, the day is coming when a football player who takes a hit to the head will come to the sideline, take off his helmet and slip on an electrode-covered mesh cap.

The team's medical staff will analyze the player's brain waves on the spot and determine within minutes whether he can safely return to the game or whether he has sustained a concussion and, if so, how severe.

Putting the finishing touches on that device is among the projects planned in the University of Nebraska's Center for Brain, Biology and Behavior, which opens this month in Memorial Stadium's newly expanded east side.

The University of Nebraska always seems to be a step ahead of everyone else when it comes to the evolution of sports (Weight training, nutrition, and now this).... As Accountability said, I'm very proud to call Nebraska mine....

They're cleaning up the mess on the East Stadium expansion. Most of the construction equipment has been moved out, the construction office trailers are gone, and they've cleaned up pretty much all the parts & pieces out front. Just a few pics today of the near-finished product...

Finally, the expanded Haymarket buildings.

This is the building immediately south of the post office:

Posted Image

And the building immediately south of the Arena. I'm presuming "Mellow Mushroom" is the name of the pizza joint rumored to be moving into this building:

Posted Image

Again, the building immediately south of the Post Office. This is the courtyard and the big black boxy thing on the back side of the building will grow up to be The Cube:

Posted Image

Same building taken from the SE. That used to be a parking lot, and I took pictures of the early stages of Arena construction from this spot, but as you can see the Arena is no longer visible from this spot.

Posted Image

This is the back side of the building with The Cube, from the south under the original canopy.

Posted Image

A pic of the new canopy taken from under the old canopy. They're really into canopies in this town...

Posted Image

From the O Street overpass, the Haymarket Expansion area.

Posted Image

Finally, looking north along Canopy Street from the overpass.

I also took some pics of the Devaney renovation and the Innovation Campus work, including the Industrial Arts Building condition. You can find that in the Volleyball forum HERE.

The only time it was assumed we would was when there was a Photoshop mockup released well over a year ago. There's never actually been confirmation that there will be another ribbon board, just speculation.

Knapp, It looks like the top part in the middle of the stadium expansion is unfinished. Are they putting windows in that place or something else? anyone else notice it?

Pretty sure the windows are already in there. What you are seeing is the finishing detail is still missing, and yes, that will be filled in.

Would it be a good idea to put an overhang on both the east and west sides? I think Husky stadium, autzen, and bryant-denny stadium are the only CFB teams that have one

I think it will look really bad with the layout and set-up of Memorial Stadium.

Remember that time we played at Washington and their crowd was so jacked up and loud that the tv cameras were shaking and a freshman Taylor Martinez in his first road start calmly took the time down for 2 quick tds and proceeded to run all over Washington that day? That was pretty cool.

It'll probably be close. Won't be many restaurant though.. I heard on the radio today that two of the first businesses in the area have applied for liquor licenses. One is a Sushi/Asian cuisine place that has a few restaurants in Omaha, the name escapes me, I didn't pay enough attention to the other.
