Has to do with one of our guys transferring and one of the walk ons we thought would be coming most likely taking a scholarship at a D2. We'll take Peat along with Goodman or Whitaker. The talent that these four young men possess, I think it is a no brainer to take all four offensive lineman. Especially over a plan C or D tight end. And with kerr ward okafor and a potential transfer, our class just got alot bigger all of the sudden. We only thought we would take 14-15 now all the sudden we can take 20 and are allowed to oversign 3. We played 3 walkons and a juco transfer on the line this year, we have alot of work and depth to build. A guy can dream cant he. Quote Link to comment

If we learned anything in our first season in the B1G conference, it's that we cannot skimp on the number of bodies playing in the trenches. The more quality bodies we can recruit for OL & DL, the better off we'll be in the long run. Our big uglies were getting decimated as the season wore on and we didn't have a lot of quality depth to alleviate the pressure. If that means taking 4 OL this year, then by all means, take it. Especially if they're quality OL like Goodman, Peat, Whitaker and Thurston. Quote Link to comment

Yes B1G schools can oversign by 3, but you can't have more than 85 when the next year officially starts. It means that the staff would have to have 3 additional players leave before Fall semester on top of who is already leaving. --EDIT-- The other option I forgot is to grayshirt 3 players in this class. You have to make room for them by JAN though if you want them in Spring Ball the next season. Quote Link to comment
