Blackshirtsguru
I coach football and thought it would be fun for my players to meet a former Husker great, and retired NFL linebacker. I work with Donta Jones' brother and he called and told me that Donta was coming into the area to attend a family get together. I contacted Donta and asked if he would like to come to our game and talk to the players. We had our game today and he showed up to speak to the kids. The guy is a class act and the kids really enjoyed listening to him. The kids and I had a blast. Oh by the way, we won 13-12 and are now 2-0. 1 Quote Link to comment

Street Novelist
Donta was always one of my favorites. He looks like he could still play! Quote Link to comment
Blackshirtsguru
Donta was always one of my favorites. He looks like he could still play! I asked him if he wouldn't mind strapping it up and playing for Nebraska again. He laughed and said that he would love too! To this day he still holds the Husker lifting record for his weight class. We got to talk one on one about the Huskers and our current coaches. He told me a story about how Callahan wouldn't let him and a few former players come down to his practices. Donta really likes Bo and Carl and thinks we are heading back to the top. Quote Link to comment
