gobiggergoredder
I'm not really going to get into right/wrong of the protest. I think much like MSNBC/CNN does, Fox has gone out to interview the morons present in every group. I do think there are some legitimate concerns behind the reason for the protests. My real question is why are these people embraced and tea party groups are 'crazy'? Link to comment
carlfense
My real question is why are these people embraced and tea party groups are 'crazy'? You could easily be asking the opposite. Why did Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Glenn Beck etc. celebrate the Tea Partiers while decrying these protests as illegal socialist mobs? Perspective, I suppose. Link to comment

Edit: If you'd like me to post videos of GOP Congressmen and Senators praising the tea party I will do that for you. I'm sure you're capable of doing that yourself if you're so inclined. I doubt you have any difficulty finding those videos, but then again that doesn't address the 'double standard' I questioned in the OP. What I do think you hard a time finding is GOP members calling the 'Occupy Wall Street' crowd the enemy or that they should go to hell. I also think it will be difficult to find videos of any Dem's praising the tea party. BTW...I enjoy debating with you Carlfense. Although we rarely agree, you are respectful. Link to comment

Just off hand I can think of a prominent GOP member (Eric Cantor) calling the Occupy Wall Street crowd un-American/divisive. I haven't been able to follow the news as closely the past few weeks but I'm sure there are similar examples. Stewart had a good sampling on his show the other night. http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-october-5-2011/parks-and-demonstration?xrs=share_copy Plenty of comparisons to Nazi's etc. Is that the sort of language you are looking for? Excel
One's opinions of the two groups provides an immediate litmus test as to their larger political views, and you can tell a lot from the OP's initial post. I just like sitting back and watching the hypocrisy. Here we have two groups doing pretty much the same thing with a few differences and you have liberal media sources coddling the Wall-Streeters and condemning the Tea Party and Fox doing the opposite. I guess consistency has been tossed out the window for good. Link to comment

The Daily Show did the same thing that every other outlet is doing. They take clips and use them to push their agenda. I saw clips from Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC, ABC World News, CBS News. Too many of you take the 'Daily Show' as a news outlet when really all they are doing is trying to be funny. I don't see how it any different when Glenn calls people Nazis or Keith Orberman goes off on the Tea Party. They are all entertainment and driven by ratings. I watch clip after clip of Fox News interviewing the biggest idiot they can find about 'Occupy Wall Street'. MSNBC has done the same thing with Tea Party members. The Daily Show then trolls thousands of clips and puts a bleeped out F-Bomb comment from Jon Stewart in with them. Same things as far as I am concerned. I saw one mention of the word Nazi and it talked about the movement that brought the Nazi's to power. I need to go back and brush up on my history, but I think the movement brought the Nazi's in was that they were fighting off communism so strongly that they lost sight of everything else. Not quite. They were primarily trying to find a scapegoat for their failures in WWI. I wasn't saying that the Daily Show is a legitimate news source. I just laughed (like usual) at Stewart's take on the hypocrisy. Link to comment
