The Bo Must Go Crowd

This staff just doesn't take recruiting seriously enough and it's already showing.

Taylor Martinez. Rex Burkhead. Lavonte David. The Freshman RB Trio. I could go on and on. Saying this staff doesn't take recruiting seriously isn't supported by the facts.

Lance Thorell, Cassidy say differently. Read my other post about the official visits. Taylor sucks and two players doesn't make up for the rest of the team being average at best. Read my last post about wasting 30 official visits, it's Solich recruiting all over again.

He gave you 7-8 names, you give him two and claim you're more right?

Nobody in this conference is a top 10 team so it's not like we are running a gauntlet or anything. This is the worst this conference has been in the last 20 years and we still have lost three games.

So we should have NO learning curve? That doesn't make any sense.

Football is football. It should be easier to defend a bunch of running teams than it is a bunch of spread teams. Play physical and focused and you should be able to be successful no matter where you play if you are a team like NU is supposed to be.

What he means is that it is recruiting failure (I may disagree...) that leads to those two guys holding down positions of frequent playing time. He is spot on with the visits and the effort. Of course over the years you'll get your share of 4-star recruits and guys who turn out to be players. That doesn't take away from the lack of attention recruiting gets during the season, that puts us behind where we could be.

we always seem to make up a ton of ground after the season...I just think it could be better if we made up that ground now, and then made up even more after the season.

knapp, what he means by wasted is that 30 official visits that could have been used, haven't.

Game day in Lincoln, third largest city in the state, that is a unique environment and a big selling point for our program. Why are these official visits being as underutilized as they are?

And what good does it do to have that freshman trio when they don't play? They are wasting away on the sideline. And don't get me started about the misuse of Turner.

No doubt there are holes, but I think it's hard to pin it all on recruiting. We've got tons of supposedly "talented" DBs who aren't seeing the field right now (Cooper, Mitchell, Osborne) because apparently Cassidy and Thorell are practicing better or something. I think it has less to do with recruiting and more to do with development and being able to get your best athletes on the field.

I'll say this: If Bo doesn't get to the CCG and at least have a good performance there next year, he will be on the hot seat. Let's revisit in 13 months. For now, let's beat Iowa and play focused and disciplined in a bowl game.

So youre saying that if we go 11-1 next year, and say our lone loss is to a team that represents our division in the championship game, and we get an at large bcs, that he's on the hot seat. Thats really stupid.

A BCS bid should give him more rope.

I don't think anyone is trying to "go back to the 1990's" but people want a team that competes for conference titles and that isn't happening right now. We are not in the crappy Big 12 north and winning the division isn't a given. I know I personally don't give a rat's ass about "the Nebraska way" because that way is dead. People need to realize that TO didn't have any assistants that are good enough to win at a school like NU and that era is over.

We are not in the Big XII North, we are in the winnable Legends division. It's a tougher division, but we can compete and win it... but we could also have used a break from the Big Ten Brass on the schedule.

Pitting Nebraska against the very best teams the Big Ten can muster in each of its first two years isn't fair. We're the n00bs, so we have to run the gauntlet. This year has been an emotional roller coaster, and many of the players are out of gas right now. Add in injuries and NO WEEKS OFF, and you have... this.

Not making excuses. Just saying it is what it is.

When 2013 rolls around and our SOS drops in half, we'll likely see very different results.

By then Michigan will be a top 10 team and we will still have walk ons starting. It won't matter, NU still wont' win the division.

How can you make that judgement? Edit: Sorry, how do you come to that judgement?

Look at the recruiting class that UM is bringing in and how good Hoke has them playing now with the limited talent that they have now. Then look at our coaches have only used 25 of our 55 allotted visits and it's not hard to see who is going to bring in the better players. This staff just doesn't take recruiting seriously enough and it's already showing.

Just curious. how many national titles have stellar recruiting classes brought Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Florida State, Ohio State, Oregon, Texas AM, Clemson, recently?

There you go. Can't refute that argument. Let's just fire the whole staff and hire a new one. You've convinced me.

Washington was a quality win, and so was Ohio State; and, we beat Penn State, which makes for two wins against highly ranked teams.

Only way I can see Bo going is if the team has some complete meltdown and he loses the team completely. I want Bo to stay, I just don't see him leaving. If he does leave, it will be in the unfortunate circumstance that we've completely imploded and nobody wants that to happen.

If it does, knock on wood, I think Boise's HC, Chris Peterson, would be the best option for us.

Washington isnt that great of a team. They have lost 4 games, almost lost to division 2 eastern washington, only won by 8 against hawaii and cal who also arent good. Ohio State lost to purde and ohio state didnt have their best players against us. Penn State hasnt played anyone. Michigan State has been our only quality win, imo.

Ohio State also beat Wisconsin

And lost to Purdue and Miami. Which makes us look that much worse by getting our asses handed to us by them.

But we beat Ohio St on the field. Shows that these comparisons are irrelevant. By the way, we dominated Michigan St. and they have the division wrapped up with a game to go. :point

You can't read very well can you? Do I need to put it in crayon for you? He gave me six and I gave him the rest of the team.

We have had losses the last four years, but this year they are way worse than the past it seems to me. These losses will have an effect on recruiting is my fear. We are the newcomer, truly not impressive in our first year, how will that play on the kids in the B1G. Will it hurt our Texas and California recruiting. I am afraid it will.

So you are one of those people that think that the almighty nebraska walk ons are better than kids that teams that would beat our ass fight after. Got it.
