Netflix & streaming video stuff worth watching

For you WWII buffs, or people who liked 'Shindler's List'...Take a look at 'The Grey Zone' with Harvey Keitel, Steve Buscemi, and David Arquette. It got bad reviews, but I watched it one night with no expectations and was really impressed. Granted, I've been to both Dacau and Auschwitz memorial sites, so I guess it's interesting to me. Worth a look.

I started watching Firefly. I really like it, but it's kinda hard to get too excited about it since there is only one season and a movie.

Yeah, that's a great series. And the movie is even better. I can't believe they canceled after one year. What, with all the incredibly stupid shows that go on forever.

Summer Glau is freaky looking btw.

I couldn't decide whether she's hot, or weird looking. I even googled her, but still couldn't decide. Guess I'll reserve judgement until I see her in the buff.

By the way, I watched My Little Pony for the First time last night. I watch cartoons every night with my two-year old son. And when Pony showed up on my recommended list he just had to see it.

Yeah. Now I'll never be able to talk him into watching Archer, or even Futurama. Spongebob is bad enough, Yo Gabba Gabba is harder to sit through. And now the Ponies.

I watched a documentary about Audie Murphy last night. Dude was pretty awesome on the battlefield. He saw almost continuous action for about a year and a half in Europe, fighting from Sicily until his company was moved to France. Started out as a buck private and received battlefield promotions until he was a company commander over 128 men. In his last battle, near Holtzwihr France, the Germans counter attacked at the point in the line where his company was located. Here is the wiki description of the battle:

The next day, January 26 (the temperature was 14 °F (−10 °C) with 24 inches (61 cm) of snow on the ground), his unit participated in the battle at Holtzwihr, France.[1][5] After fighting for some time, Murphy's unit was reduced to an effective strength of 19 out of 128. Murphy sent all of the remaining men to the rear[5] while he shot at the Germans with his M1 carbine until he ran out of ammunition. He then climbed aboard an abandoned, burning M10 tank destroyer and used its .50 caliber machine gun[1] to cut down the German infantry,[5] including one full squad of German infantry who crawled in a ditch to within 100 feet (30 m) of his position. He was able to call in artillery fire using a land-line telephone and, under heavy fire, was wounded in the leg.[1][5] He nonetheless continued his nearly single-handed battle for almost an hour.[1][5] He only stopped fighting when his telephone line to the artillery fire direction center was cut by enemy artillery. As his remaining men moved forward, he quickly organized them into a counter-attack[1][5] which ultimately drove the enemy from Holtzwihr. For these actions, Murphy was awarded the Medal of Honor.[1][5]

When asked after the war why he had seized the machine gun and taken on an entire company of German infantry, he replied simply, "They were killing my friends." LINK
