Do they even wrestle in the SEC?

Do they even wrestle in the SEC?

Nope. Missouri wrestling is now officially a member of the MAC.

On a bit of a tangent I've long wished that the B1G & Big 12 would have an annual Duals tournament. That would be a great tradition to build between the top 2 conferences in wrestling (despite the Big 12 losing some of it's luster with Nebraska & Missouri departing).

The freestyle challenge back in 2010 was nice but I'd love to see something that happens regularly and features the wrestlers currently in school.

I thought Nebraska dropped to like 17 after the Minny loss?

How is Wisconsin not ranked at this point? If we're 9th they are clearly top 10

They're 23 in the coaches poll. They lost to #25 Old Dominion & got thumped by #12 VPI. Also had a meh performance at Cliff Keen.

Did you guys send your full team to Midlands? I didn't seen Green or Sueflohn in the brackets. Those are probably your two best tournament scorers.

Kokesh is currently #8 on Intermat's rankings. He was third at the B1G & an 8 seed for NCAAs. Beat the guys he was supposed to beat then got hammered by David Taylor & lost in his first wrestle back (don't remember to who). This year he'll probably do worse in the B1G (it's deeper at 174 than 165) but has a very good shot at making AA at NCAAs. That extra year of experience will help him a lot.

No. 149 & 184 did not compete.

Nebraska wins this one 20-19.

Nagel's pin came out of no where. Huge surprise of the night.

Sure was. Sueflohn was the one that surprised me though. Couldn't believe he lost.

Another big match up coming up this weekend @ Penn State. I hope the skers can get grinding it out and pull off the upset. Which match ups do you think we can win?

Not even going to guess. I have only watched 1 live event this season.

Which match ups do you think we can win?

Your best shots:

133 - Nagel vs Conaway

141 - Kelly vs Pearsall

157 - Green vs Alton

174 - Brown vs Kokesh

285 - Gingrich is beatable

I believe both Alton brothers are both supposed to be in the lineup otherwise I'd add 149 to the list.

The big problem is that PSU has guys that are likely to score bonus points in most of the other weights.

Thanks for the results! I was hoping green would have won his match but Sueflohn winning with the pin is huge for him going forward.
