Ocean
On my way to class this morning the guys on 105.3 the fan broached the subject that Nick Saban was expected to be meeting with some folks in Austin here pretty quick. Granted, I caught very little of the segment as I was running a bit behind and had to hurry in to class. I've searched for a reference from the station and for any form of podcast to validate that I'm not making this up, but to this point I've been unsuccessful. The guys on the station did mention that as of right now they don't have any official evidence either and it's just rumor at this point. I just thought this would be something interesting to keep an eye on. Quote Link to comment
sd'sker
imo, saban only leaves bama for the nfl. imo. Quote Link to comment
ShawnWatson
IMO, Austin is a beautiful dumpster fire of sh#t. Quote Link to comment
husker B-rent
And bo is getting fired so we can hire urban Meyer! ..... There, I started a rumor too! Quote Link to comment
Blackshirts007
Why would he leave bama for Texas? Lateral move at best. It's not like he can recruit any better than he does Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Irrelevant, imo. Quote Link to comment
HuskerfaninOkieland
I think this is a rumor at best and a very weak one at that. Some of the posters on shaggybevo have mentioned Saban's name but the impression I get is it's more of a wish-list than it is anything else. Quote Link to comment
Minnesota_husker
Why the hell would he leave Bama for Texass? I mean money, but i bet he gets paid just fine in Bama, IMHO. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
I could see him leaving for the adventure of turning another team around, and he's never struck me as a very loyal guy. Quote Link to comment
RedRedJarvisRedwine
Ole Nikki loves hearing this. Nothing like handing him a nice bargaining chip to get another raise at Bama. Quote Link to comment
Hercules
The only thing that makes this plausible to me is that Texas is probably willing and able to more than quadruple Saban's current salary. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Seriously guys. Would it really shock anyone that much? Saban already has a track record of leaving a well-built machine to take on the challenge of building another. And Texas has the money. If he's a challenge driven guy as I suspect he is, it wouldnt surprise me one bit that he'd be gettin a tad bored with his success at Bama and would like the challenge of rebuilding a 3rd struggling program into a powerhouse. In fact, it's probably a scary thought. Saban? With that in state talent in his backyard (even moreso than he has now), and in the peeny weeny Big 12? Who's gonna stop him? Stoop? Gundy? He already has the legacy of doing it with two programs. Why not make it a third? Cement that legacy that frankly will never be matched. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
ESPN and the LHN need help so they will bring him in. Texas joins the B1G and wins a NC and a new B1G reign of consecutive NC's begins!! Quote Link to comment

AgMarauder04
I could see him leaving for the adventure of turning another team around, and he's never struck me as a very loyal guy. THIS. At some point, where's the challenge? Quote Link to comment
