Haspula
http://www.hoops.com...or-tai-webster/ Dante Exum, an Australian player, is projected to be a top 3 NBA draft pick this year in ESPN's 2014 draft. He is behind 2 freshman, Andrew Wiggins (KU) and Julius Randle (UK). If none of them declare (b/c they're only freshman) then you are looking at a potential #1 pick in the draft Im guessing these two have faced off before. Anyways, it's pretty neat to see Tai Webster being compared to someone that will likely be taken top 3 in this year's NBA draft Quote Link to comment
hskrfan4life
That is pretty awesome! Hopefully Tai gets better as he should each year. Quote Link to comment
Foppa
It doesn't quite answer your question, but it doesn't sound like they ever played each other, at least officially. I *think* there was a chance at one time, but Tai was winning a 3-on-3 tourney in Italy and didn't play on his U-17 team when they were supposed to play Australia. Here's a link on a message board on people comparing the two, FWIW.. www.hoops.com.au/forum/28715-dante-exum-or-tai-webster/ Quote Link to comment

TAKODA
Here is just a bit of what is being said on one of the post in that board that Foppa posted a link too. "This is a definite coup for the Huskers," ESPN college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla told the Lincoln Journal Star. "I'd be shocked if there are 25 better 17-year-old players in the States than this kid." Quote Link to comment

And, yes, I know it has nothing to do with race. Quote Link to comment

Rugby - All Blacks Soccer - All Whites B-ball- Tall Blacks Cricket - Blackcaps Rugby League - Kiwis Not that any of you really care, but this is how they name things. I actually attended an American football game the other day, and baseball is gaining popularity. It's fun to see these things here, when you can't see it on a regular level. Quote Link to comment

I guess sticking to the color scheme isn't any worse than naming teams after random animals. Sometimes it takes a while for American cultural imperialism to conquer the new world. TAKODA
Haspula; I have to say too that I am somewhat disappointed by his performance last year and hope like heck he just needed a year to get acclimated. Quote Link to comment

TAKODA
Who cares what anyone thinks. He is a Husker and we need to support. SouthLincoln Husker, I do not believe anyone suggested we do not support him or any Husker for that matter. Haspula just supplied a link a reference from the Ausie's perspective and my comment thereafter was an observation that my expectations were higher than how he performed because of the comments by ESPN's college basketball analyst Fran Fraschilla. The latter is on me for having higher expectations, not on the kid. We all knew he would have a learning curve to grow through. We will see this coming season if this was the case. I meant who cares what the aussies think. I will be the first to say I hate this topic and will continue to back this kid. Sorry if I offended anyone, but I understand where he is at. I did not play basketball, but the game is different when you are not playing against High Schoolers. He played out of position and with another guard (Ray) who could not handle the ball. Plus, he was a man, a young man, who admitted it. FYI - Fran needs to make stupid comments, so people listen and he gets paid. Quote Link to comment
HUSKER FREAK
I think all to often our expectations get caught up in the hoopla with recruiting and we put these high expectations on these kids that are nearly unreachable. I was disappointed for that very reason, also, but looking back he put in some very valuable minutes and did what we needed him to do as well as Benny to win more games than we have in a while and not even more but respectable wins. I think he should be happy with himself on his first year but work very hard each year after to get where he needs to fulfill his dreams. Quote Link to comment

I think TW will gain a lot of wisdom before next season and wish him nothing but the best! Quote Link to comment
