Why Coaches usually don't move laterally from one "Big 5" program to another

It makes sense I guess.

 

 

 

If you are a "top tier" school of the big 5, you are likely to get fired and go to a lower school or broadcasting for a year or 2, or stay where you are.

 

 

You forgot "or go to the NFL, fail, then come back.

You're right. I left that out because I figured we were discussing college specifically.

i thought you were discussing Saban and Meyer specifically. Heh.

No, but he did go to broadcasting for a year. Read a little carefully.

Me neither. IT sounds like the only real exception would be like a lower tier from one to another....like Indiana to USC, or something similar.

 

or TAMU to alabama.

sorry, didnt realize TAMU fans were so sensitive over losing bear bryant. i also thought stallings was hired away as well. so i made the comment in jest thinking bama had stolen 2 coaches from TAMU that led them to an MNC.
