Mavric
Josh Mitchell has been getting a lot of pub. Sounds like he has one CB spot locked down. Also, turning into a vocal leader for the defense. CJax has been looking good at the Nickel spot. Sounds like he put in a lot of work learning the defense before spring practice started. After today's practice, Pelini said Byerson Cockrell has been looking good as well. Working both at Nickel and Corner. Also, I hadn't heard this before but apparently Pelini often works with the Nickel backs in practice. Interesting nugget. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Pelini said CJax is "light years" ahead of where he was last year. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Steven M. Sipple @HuskerExtraSip 9m Imani Cross' big run did not sit well with #Huskers senior cornerback Josh Mitchell. He let his fellow defenders know his feelings... Steven M. Sipple @HuskerExtraSip 8m Josh Mitchell, by the way, appears to be the most vocal #Huskers defender. Definitely was Saturday. He huddles up guys on sideline. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Brian Christopherson @HuskerExtraBC 28m Pelini likes what Byerson Cockrell is doing. "The game makes sense to him. He's a very instinctive guy. He's going to help us." #Huskers Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Brian Christopherson @HuskerExtraBC 25m "You can just tell by the questions he asks and his approach how far he has come in the last year," Pelini said of Jackson. #Huskers Quote Link to comment
The King
Pelini has been very impresses with Charles Jackson. Completely new mentality from him this year. Byerson Cockrell will help us out. Physical. On phone so hard to link tweets. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Steven M. Sipple @HuskerExtraSip 6m Bo, on Charles Jackson: The game "is starting to slow down and make sense to him, which is a good thing because he's a really talented kid." Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Thx for moving it Mavric. No problem. I still like the Updates thread but thought some things that would get discussed more could use their own threads. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
Johnathan Rose has been playing with the #1 until most of the time as the corner opposite Mitchell. Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
CJax has been/is being mentored by Ciante on the Nickel spot. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
There are two kinds of vocal leaders, and Nebraska's secondary has both. The first is a confident, front-and-center ring leader like senior cornerback Josh Mitchell. He wants to blend fun (when the defense wins) and fury (when it doesn't) all into one series of plays. Several times Saturday, reporters heard “one D!” from Mitchell, who'd huddle up the unit like a coach. OWH Quote Link to comment
robsker
at this point, given the statements we read, the CB position looks fairly promising. One guy not often mentioned (reasonable in that he is young) is Boaz Joseph. Have I missed it or have there been any comments on Boaz and the likelihood of his contributing this season?
