zoogs
Also, Bran saw that scene and didn't stick around to hear Lyanna say "His name is Aegon TARGARYEN"??? Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
Spoiler I am beginning to think that this thread just needs to be avoided by anyone concerned about spoilers so that not every comment needs to be opened up in the spoiler tab. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Yeah, but the first part of this thread title is "Please no spoilers" ... which means "From ASOIAF", but in any case. Maybe rename the thread? We've moved past ASOIAF in the show, anyway. Quote Link to comment
Landlord
It's only saying no spoilers from the books, because this thread is about the tv shows. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
So people should stop hiding their posts right? Quote Link to comment

I'm pretty sure he stuck around long enough to hear it the first time. There wasn't really anyone who he could tell it to that would have mattered or better context. With the conversation between him and Sam, it made sense to reveal the name to us as the audience. Also, I think the show runners are trying to leave things for GRRM to reveal. Hoping he would finish Winds. He hasn't so they had to push forward. Quote Link to comment
Moiraine
So is Tormund dead? We didn't see the body and it's a fantasy series. Maybe he was on the part of the wall that didn't collapse? Seems weird to kill him that way instead of as a hero in the previous episode Quote Link to comment

Moiraine
Another thought. In every episode this season the good guys have travelled at light speed regardless of their mode of transportstion (e.g. Breane on a horse) and how far away they were. So logically, the zombies should be in King's Landing in a few minutes. Quote Link to comment

I read somewhere that the majority of episodes this past season take place in a timeline of a few weeks, as opposed to days. 1 Quote Link to comment
Apathy
What an epic finale My wife during the Jon/Danny boat scene "I want to think that this is beautiful but it's grossing me the f*#k out" lol Also this is me realizing that I have to wait a year for the next season 1 Quote Link to comment
JJ Husker
Season 8 supposedly begins shooting in October. Still sounding like only 6 more episodes but some talk of each of them being closer to feature length. Maybe in the neighborhood of the 80 minute s7 finale or longer. The last 2 seasons took 9-11 months from beginning of production to air date. So the soonest we could hope for would be summer 2018 but that is probably unlikely with anticipated longer episodes and extensive CG work. Most guesses are putting it in 2019. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2017/08/when-does-game-of-thrones-season-8-air-how-long-how-many-episodes-who-is-in-it Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
I heard an interesting tidbit about the actor who plays Bronn (Jerome Flynn) and the actress who plays Cersei (Lena Headley). The reason they had Bronn leave with Podrick for drinks at the beginning of the season finale is that Flynn and Headley used to date in real life, and they hate each other so much that it was put into their contracts that they won't be in the same room (and therefore same scene) together. http://metro.co.uk/2017/08/30/game-of-thrones-cersei-lannister-and-bronns-real-life-past-is-why-you-never-see-them-on-screen-together-6888629/ Quote Link to comment
