Ten Big Ten centers were tabbed for the Rimington Trophy watch list – Indiana’s Collin Rahrig, Iowa’s Austin Blythe, Maryland’s Sal Conaboy, Michigan State’s Jack Allen, Minnesota’s Tommy Olson, Nebraska’s Mark Pelini, Northwestern’s Brandon Vitabile, Purdue’s Robert Kugler, Rutgers’ Betim Bujari and Wisconsin’s Dan Voltz. Six standouts from current Big Ten schools have won the Rimington Trophy, most recently when Michigan’s David Molk claimed the honor in 2011.

10 out of 14 ... not too shabby.

Nebraska running back Ameer Abdullah was one of four players named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll exemplifying versatility on the field. The Paul Hornung Award, presented by Texas Roadhouse, is awarded annually to the most versatile player in major college football. The winner and his family will be honored in late January 2015 at a banquet presented by KentuckyOne Health at the Galt House Hotel and Suites in downtown Louisville.
