New 2016 #Nebrasketball commit Isaiah Roby talks about what sold him on the #Huskers… (FREE) https://nebraska.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1695232

Roby gave Nebraska head coach Tim Miles a verbal commitment on Tuesday night, joining Hutchinson (Kan.) C.C. forward Keanu Pinder as NU's second 2016 commit.

Since picking up an NU offer back in July, Roby has already traveled to Lincoln for two unofficial visits and has been hearing from the Huskers on a near daily basis. The relationships he's built with Miles and lead recruiter Jim Molinari have helped vault the Huskers to the top of his list entering his junior high school season.
"Nebraska was the first Big Ten school to offer me, and as soon as they offered me I was really intrigued with the school and tried to find out all about it," Roby said. "When I came back from my first visit, I loved it. It was awesome. And then I felt the same way after the second time.
"Earlier in the recruiting process, I went to other schools and loved it and thought, 'Oh this is the college I want to go to.' So I tried to calm down about it and give every college a fair chance and try to get to know all the coaches and stuff. But Nebraska has been one of my top schools the whole time, and every school I talk to I think about Nebraska too."

“Having someone that you want to be around like him is a plus,” he said. “He’s energetic and he’s just a good guy. He has a bunch of faith in me and my abilities and more than any other coach at that level.”

Roby, who has taken two unofficial visits to Nebraksa, said he also had interest from Creighton, Iowa, Northern Iowa and Northwestern.
“Ever since the time I went on the visit I knew that was somewhere I wanted to be,” Roby said. “I like the people there like coach [Kenya] Hunter, coach [Jim] Molinari and coach [Chris] Harriman."
“I tried to picture myself somewhere else and I just couldn’t,” Roby explained. “I‘ve been wanting to do this for a while. It just felt like home when I was there.”
Roby averaged 12 points, eight rebounds and four blocks a game as a sophomore at Dixon.
