Searching for Help at Defensive End

Sounds like Keels is on the right track. I've seen several reports over the last couple months that he was dealing with some personal issues this spring which was really taking away from concentrating on football. Sounds like he's spent a lot of time in the playbook - and a lot of time with McMullen - over the summer and is catching on. Also looks better from a strength and conditioning standpoint. Hopefully he can be at least a solid backup come game time.

As long as RG4 stays healthy we will be fine at DE this year.

He changes the game so much with his abilities. McMullen is solid for a strong side DE but does do anything the other backups or Collins (if he slides over) can do. The reason it looks bad is we haven't seen any if the backups play ball yet. I actually like our DE depth with the caveat of RG4.

"Motor guy"...that was exactly my thought when I first saw this guy in the 3 on 1 drill in spring game 2 yrs ago. I'd say this is the perfect example of what we want from our walk-on program. Attack, attack, and attack the LOS until the will of the guy across from you starts to crumble. Dominating the LOS can be as simple as forcing at least one OLineman to scrap the plan and react on every down. Get 2 guys to react and the mayhem potential goes way up.

If Gangwish can bring to the field what he's bringing to practice I can see a schollie in his future.
