hskrfan4life
Creighton is being sued by the Toronto bluejays for the likeness of the logos and mascots. http://nocoastbias.com/toronto-bluejays-suing-creighton-stealing-logo/ Quote Link to comment
Micheal
saw this on a site I frequent Chris Creamer's Sports Logos, seems a bit absurd as, yes they both look like bluejays but Creighton's actually looks good. Hope Toronto loses this one Quote Link to comment

StPaulHusker
It's getting closer to the winter months and Canadians have nothing better to do. Quote Link to comment
ColoradoHusk
Does this lawsuit go back 20 years? Does Creighton have a campus in Canada? Quote Link to comment
NUance
This isn't really a lawsuit. Yet. Toronto filed a Notice of Opposition in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to prevent Creighton from registering the Bluejay logo shown above in the upper left. Toronto has no problem with the other three Creighton marks, as I understand it. Toronto might have a good point. If Toronto loses this administrative agency decision it'll probably end up in federal court. LINK 1 Quote Link to comment
irafreak
So it's a lawsuit between two businesses in two separate countries? Quote Link to comment
NUance
So it's a lawsuit between two businesses in two separate countries? Almost. It's an opposition filed by a company with an administrative agency opposing trademark registration by a university. 1 Quote Link to comment

LINK Succeeded for now anyway. The Skins had their mark canceled about 15 years ago. Then got it reinstated in federal court. Quote Link to comment
