skersfan
Well Fresno is a win and the tailgate was to. We had about 100 people I guess, a great area, but man on man was it hot and humid. I live near Palm Springs, so saying it is hot, means it is hot!!! Those poor kids on the field, it had to be 120 degrees down there!!!! and at 8pm. Thanks to irieboy8 for all the great things from Hawaii!! Patti took the coffee to work with her today. Met a lot of you guys, but was so busy all day, had little time to set and talk with most of you. Hope you guys met other fans. Great to meet Kornhusker and his friends. Thanks for all the offerings to help. Means a lot. Did get to talk with Polo for awhile. Good guy, just loves Nebraska, for me that is all that is important. If it weren't for people with different ideas we would not be enjoying football as we know it. Change is brought about by those thinking we need it. Had some great Fresno State fans across from us. Truly was a fun day. I just wish more had showed up as we have tons of food and beer left over. Donating the food to Mary's Kitchen in Beaumont today. Hopefully they will take it all. A very long three day deal, glad to be home, and back to work. It will be a break. Hope all had a great time, enjoyed each other and the game. I know we had a ball having all of you. To those that I promised recipes for the yellow chicken and carne asada, pm me and we will get you information you need. Most of the meet can be shipped via Dry Ice I am sure. Again thanks to all for the time they spent with us. 4 Quote Link to comment

knapplc
Did get to talk with Polo for awhile. Good guy, just loves Nebraska Been saying that about the guy for a couple years now. I don't always agree with his message or how it's sent, but you can't deny he's a fan. And a pretty good egg, as eggs go. Quote Link to comment

beanman
So where are the pics? I need to put some faces with the names. Or maybe see a photo of Polo passed out after drinking 6 beers. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
I never took a single one, all day long. Patti took some, I will try to figure them out and get them up when she gets home Wednesday. She has meetings in LA for two days. No falling down drunks at our party, But some never made it back after the game. The Fresno kids were totally gone before the game. I understand thirsty, but not even knowing where the stadium is at, crawling on the side walk and walking into oncoming headlights seemed to be the norm. They were truly partying!!!! Lady is quite the find for us. She replaces my beloved Tillie. 11 years, passed this spring. Lady makes me smile and love to see her growing like she did again this weekend. Glad your other half enjoyed her. She is timid still, rescues normally are. But has progressed so much in the last 6 months it is amazing. She would cower in a corner when we got her. Afraid of every sound. Her walking around letting people pet her is simply amazing. We all need to understand that we are Husker fans, and different ideas do not lessen that. Quote Link to comment
CarolO
Thanks for a great tailgate, Bob. Please also thank Pat and Colleen for us. I was with the group that brought the ice (finally!). We had a great time and truly enjoyed your hospitality, not to mention the great food. Go Huskers and thanks again! Quote Link to comment

kornhusker
Thanks Bob, everything was awesome! It was fun meeting everybody. The game was fun, but hot as hell. Just got back to Omaha and the weather is perfect, a nice 68. I was surprised at the noise level of their crowd at the beginning of the game(faded very quickly though) they were all into it and cheering loud. We were in the Fresno season ticket section, across from the video screen where most of our fans were. There were quite a few nebraska fans where we were also. Had a couple Fresno fans mouthing off and just saying stupid stuff the few times I left the stands nothing major though, they seemed mostly drunk. Anyway great time had. Thanks again Bob and Patti. Husker in CA
This is to Bob and everyone else we chatted with at the tailgate, Husker fans are by far the nicest people you are going to ever meet. Bob, thank you so very much for all you did that day. Awesome food. Great set up. The whole deal. Everyone was very friendly and very welcoming. Felt like we had known you guys for our whole lives. Haha. If this is what the state of Nebraska is all about, I can definitely see a change of homestead when I retire in 10 years. Thanks again Big Red Family! Quote Link to comment
