HUSKERFOREVER38
It was fun to see us leaping and high jumping defenders!! And our quarterback catching a touchdown pass!! also Ameer with 4 touchdowns!! exciting!! we can do this. We are also top 16 in the polls. By this time next week we will be and should crack into the top 15. Sparty got away with one at home over us but we can get them or tOSU back in the title game. For any critics of mine..if you aren't excited whats the point in investing so much time, money, energy and heart??? This is a sport that should be fun and played for fun&at the end of the days its a game. 4 Quote Link to comment

ithinkiloverg44
Love it. I pump homemade sunshine into my world every saturday before kickoff and drink kool-aid daily. Now, I won't say we wont make the playoffs or we will, it will just be incredibly difficult to do so since we won't sleep with the boys at the that ESPN place. I do expect us to win the rest of our games and have a dog fight in the CCG. We can do it, we have the talent, so why don't we just show the world? Go Big Red!!! Btw I love Ameer that is all 1 Quote Link to comment
BOJ
Dig your enthusiasm and I can only hope the team does not inherit it. Look, one of us has to be in it this year (the playoff) , whether its Nebraska, OSU, or MSU, one of us must be there and represent well. If Nebraska is the team, then so be it. I prefer to stomp ya in Indy, but I'm sure that feeling is reciprocated. I am already assuming we see you in Indy (unless Minny makes a splash, uhh, what?). Good luck guys! Quote Link to comment
secretasianman
Sparty got away with one at home? Ok..which part of 47 rushing yards didn't you understand? Which part of Armstrong misfiring on all his throws when the pressure was on didn't you see? Our o-line was manhandled. That's the pattern with this team. We get exposed by the upper echelon teams and every year, we sink a little further. MSU may be upper echelon in the conference, but not nationally. Quote Link to comment

They kinda did get away with one. Kidos to them for playing 3 brilliant quarters of defense. If they couldve played 4 we wouldnt have been in it at the end. Yet regardless we didnt get the TD that couldve won us the game and a pick sealed it. They basically did get away with the win. Quote Link to comment
Redux
Loving the OP optimism. The talent and athletecism I see week in and week out is proba ly some of the finest we have seen here in forever. there are still mistakes, there are still bad play calls. But really, if we keep playing solid football theres no reason we cant win out. If our talent level is this good in 2014, just imagine how fast and strong this team is gonna look a year or two from now. The recruiting level is going up big time. I expect us to take a permanent residence in Indy. Quote Link to comment
VectorVictor
Yes, the talent is there to make a run and go undefeated the rest of the season. However, until I see this team buck recent history and get to 11-1, I'll bridle my optimism. As for the playoffs, I'm afraid our only shot is to go undefeated and beat Sparty in Indy when we play them again. That means we'll need to root for Sparty when they play tOSU, 'cause I don't see tOSU making the Top 10, even if they beat Sparty, before the CCG. Quote Link to comment

As bad as we played for 50 minutes, the Huskers win if they don't turn the ball over. It seems like we have a couple games every year with 4+ turnovers. Quote Link to comment

If Nebraska would have won that game on that play you can bet that MSU would be extremely pissed and ready to go if we played them in the CCG. Not saying they won't be anyway, but it is really hard to beat a team 2x in a season if they are fairly evenly matched. Quote Link to comment
BIGREDIOWAN
Love the optimism! I have a hard time getting to that point anymore because I've been burned year after year by the results on the field. I want a rematch with MSU, I don't think they win if we meet a second time, I'll be rooting for them against OSU because of that. We CAN win out, WILL we win out? That's a whole nother question.......... Quote Link to comment

Not really, NU has played MSU tough every year for the most part and has had very good luck running the ball against them except this year. In most games it has been turnovers and the defense playing poorly that has hurt NU against upper echelon teams. Quote Link to comment
