Yes, this is really happening. Yes, Nebraska is now in a conference with an East coast school. No longer are the Atlantic shores a million miles away - they're just over there, on the other side of the conference.

Today West meets East again, much the same as Darius at Marathon, Xerxes at Plataea, or Alexander the Great at.... kinda everywhere. As history shows, no matter the strength of the invaders from the East, the West always prevails.

Rutgers enters today's game 5-2, relying on the arm of Gary "Super" Nova to lead them to victory. Nova's 62% completion rate and 13 touchdowns are due in large part to his go-to receiver, Leonte Caroo, who's caught 34 of Nova's 110 completions on the year and 648 of Nova's 1,800 yards passing. Nova has thrown eight interceptions on the season, however, and has been known to throw into coverage and is a risk-taker.

The Scarlet Knights' rushing attack is led by Desmon Peoples, with 409 yards on the season and 4.2 yards per carry. Peoples has taken the bulk of the carries after Rutgers star, Paul James, went down with injury late in September.

On defense, Rutgers ranks 67th nationally and 10th in the Big Ten against the Run. DE Kemoko Turay figures to be a threat to just about everything Nebraska does today, so keeping him contained is a priority.

Cruising through the Rutgers beat reporters' predictions, most everyone thinks they'll bounce back well from last week's 56-17 blowout at the hands of the Buckeyes in Columbus - but the three guys I checked all predict a double-digit Nebraska win.

Hopefully we see plenty of Ryker Fyfe and Johnny Stanton in this game, and Graham Nabity runs wild in the fourth quarter.

It's gameday, Husker fans. Time to Husker Up!
