He certainly knows much more about the Huskers and defense than all of us, so I thought this was interesting.

OK watching Nebraska n Wisconsin game finally on DVR. Had see for myself! #couldntresist

They blaming the CB? Its 100% on the DE ...he got hooked! Its simple ball goes inside if d end does his job

That was big TD run #1 by Gordon

Next long run by Gordon. the culprit? #4 DE again hooked and edge not set. football is simple if you do YOUR job.

The #46 hooks LB #41 and its a walk in touchdown! Notice a trend here.Set the damn edge and get it back to your boys!

In summary. I don't believe it has anything to do with scheme. Its players doing their job and if u can't do it physically do it mentally >

<can be as simple as a better alignment to allow yourself win ur matchup. Bottom line get the ball back to your teammates so they can play!

Melvin Gordon is not Adrian Peterson but he is when you let him get outside the framework of your defense and get away from the noise!

In football the little things lead to the big things both positively and negatively.Mental preparation preceeds physical ability! #doYOURjob

You know though, how good is a scheme when one guy doesn't do his job and it ends up in 60+ yard rushing TD? It just seems like much too easy of a scheme to beat when all you have to do is make one guy f#*k up his job which snowballs everyone else on the defense and a big play happens damn near every time.

With all due respect to Shanle, he's never played for Bo. Bo's coverage is typically in a matchup and in that situation, Davie is obviously supposed to pass that particular receiver off to the inside. Did McMullen get whooped? Yeah, probably. But we dotn know what the scheme was. Maybe McMullen was supposed to contain inside like he did and Gerry was supposed to fit his outside. I doubt it. That wouldnt make much sense. But the point I'm making is in the first one, Davie was WAY out of place. There's no defense for what he did.

In the other two, yeah. No arguments there. That's just guys gettin whipped. Which leads to my whole hopeless theory at this points. If these things are continuing to be a problem every time we play a good team, then something has to change. The philososphy, teacher, idea, something. At some point the whole deal has to be scrapped, cuz regardless who's fault it is, it's not working.

and at what point do you make adjustments instead of allowing a score on every run?

Remember when former Miami safety Philip Buchanon was doing this for the hapless Hurricane defense? Remember when we steamrolled those guys?

It's hard to believe that a couple months later, Nebraska is licking their wounds after another dismantling at the hands of Wisconsin, and Miami is coming off giving Florida State all they could handle before falling late.

I remember watching Randy Gregory highlights vs Miami and thinking he's moving a little bit after everyone else on every snap. Anybody else noticing this? Is that still happening? This guy has all the tools but still has to put it together to become the complete player and Top-10 pick that he looks destined to be.

As I said in the status, this isn't an indictment on the players. I think you're crazy if you think Bo and his staff are stupid when it comes to scheme. But too often they can't get their guys to play. Not on the big stage. Not against Wisconsin. That's coaching, recruiting, and mentality. It's all on the coaches.

Agreed. I don't understand the lack of adjustments. When guys are getting beat 2-3 series in a row I'm pretty sure I would try something different. Bo acts like the game is a practice. Just keep running it over and over and over until they finally get it. Well, in a game that is sometimes 8 TDs unanswered.

Agreed.

Sometimes I wonder if it's a function of how much man we're playing, too. Whatever it is, it just keeps happening.
