In other news, Iowa is giving Wisconsin a game

I'm thinking, even before the debacle that was the game last Saturday, that I would've been pretty satisfied with holding Gordon to 200 yards on 31 carries. That offensive line for Wisconsin is still really really good, and just plain big. And Gordon should win the Heisman. He deserves it as he is a class act like Ameer.

This is true. And they do the same things over and over and over. At some point theyre gonna break a few. Theyre too good up front and gordon is too good not to. But it's all how you respond and adjust and react. Today, Iowa did all 3 pretty well, and found themselves with a shot late in the 4th after being down 19-3.

This is sad, cuz I have a hard tiem finding anything bad to say about anyone whatsoever anymore after watching our mess for the last 6 games.

Yeah, so is the current situation we Husker fans find ourselves.

Like I said in the comments, we will find a guy who will come here and put the pieces together. We are too quality of a program with too passionate a fan base to not have success. Case in point, the basketball team, which has been a perennial doormat since forever. Now, we are the 21st best program in the nation. If our basketball team, which doesn't have a tournament win, can turn their fortunes around in a matter of 2 seasons, then the sky's the limit for our football program, which has 5 national titles to its name.

Typical Iowa: a hard-fought loss to a better team, and their giddy fans celebrating yet another gutsy moral victory by Ferentz.

I really wouldn't have minded seeing Iowa win that one--just can not stand anything at all about Wisconsin. But that's what Husker football has come to: hoping that fricking IOWA can take care of the bully on the block for us. Now if that isn't depressing, I don't know what is.

ByeBye, you took the words out of my mouth with the basketball program comment. I'll add to it. How many teams in college football have made changes to either emerge from being a perennial nothing, ala Nebrasketball. OR RE-emerged after years of mediocrity or futility.

We have an opportunity here to re emerge after the worst that we've suffered is a couple of 5 wins seasons. Still winning 9-10 games. Still being in the mix at the very least for division titles. I've really changed on this way of thinking over the past year. I think our high expectations are great. It just shows how much we care. What we think of our beloved program. No. We're NOT asking for it to be the 90's again. I love that argument. it's comical I hope I wasnt ever stupid enough to use it. But asking for good solid, competent and competitive football is NOT too much to ask for.
