Your Bo Pelini Argument is Invalid

A common go to 'round these parts is to dismiss the traditional, "print" if you will media for simply fishing for clicks and trying to sell papers. Then, they commonly point to the online vehicle of their choice to show what REAL HUSKER SCRIBIN' is all about.

Now it's my turn. No Coast Bias does the Lord's work of late.

http://nocoastbias.com/bo-pelini-argument-invalid/

Turn to it for any and all easy rebuttals for the last fighters who say Bo is the answer and the Bill Callahan Monster awaits if we fire anyone or not eat our vegetables.

To wit:

Bill Callahan sucked at Nebraska, theres no denying that. But if hes truly the worst coach ever, dont you think even an average coach could come here and do better? Nobody is getting a statue for doing better than Billy C.

Whats also silly about even mentioning Bill Callahan is that the same fans that use this point to excuse all of Bos failings also compare Pelini favorably to one of the greatest coaches of all-time in Tom Osborne. Thats like comparing the aforementioned Pierson-El to Deion Sanders, and then saying at least hes not Santino Panico as soon as he has a rough game. Stop moving the standard to fit your argument, folks.

Or.....

However big of a mess you think Bo inherited, Bo himself said we were back in 2009 so it looked like he was over that fact. Even if you want to dismiss this quote, shouldnt we be a little worried about taking things Bo says as gospel?

If he was so out-of-touch or overconfident to say Nebraska was back being one of the elite programs in the country (thats the goal isnt it?), why should we believe him now when he says our program is on the right track?

While were talking about Bo quotes, does Bos Contrary to what you guys think, I havent forgotten how to coach defense and how to stop the run, quote earn a place next to Charlie Weis decided schematic advantage quote in the all-time arrogant-as-f*ck-wrong-as-hell sports quotes?

Read on, I urge you.

Our next coach might be our Brady Hoke or Derek Dooley.

Which would mean years of dark ahead. But in the long run, that's okay, right? You keep moving on until you find the guy.

Unless Bo drops a huge win on Iowa Friday, how can you say with confidence that Bo looks like the right guy?

Why would Hoke or Dooley mean that?

The next hire could be the Hoke or the Saban. But that is why you make the change. When you already know what your product it is and it doesn't meet the standards of employment, then you seek a change and keep doing it until you get the desired results.

Oklahoma did it and eventually got Stoops and we all know how great he has done at Oklahoma. Alabama did it and we know about their dynasty. Michigan tried it and got Hoke, but that was also a product of the AD that got fired wanting Hoke from the start and refusing to get Harbaugh that wanted the job but they school needed to fire the AD to fire Hoke so they can get John like they wanted a few years ago.

I would seriously worry about the person whose mind would be changed by a huge victory over Iowa. The Pelini problem is much deeper and more complex than one simple victory over a middling team or even a 9 win record. I thought we had moved beyond this. The Iowa game, either way, doesn't matter in the need for a new HC.

TheSker. Are you still defending Bo? Or are you just simply hinting at what will happen? Do you have surefire evidence? Can you add something to the discussion other than your snide remarks like "bo aint gettin fired" that and "osborne" this. Its gettin old. It was gettin old when i myself blindly defended bo. Offer up your reasoning. Explain to us in any way shape or form that the retention of Bo pelini as head football coach wont result in a complete crumbling of the Nebraska football culture from the inside out.

Easy guy.....not necessary. To answer your questions.....I'm fine if the decision makers retain Pelini. I do not like the brand of football currently being played, especially on offense. Evidence of what? I have no evidence of anything, but the actual decision is made by a very small number of people. And yes, those people are heavily influenced by Tom Osborne.
