Thanks_Tom RR
Welcome Ferguson! His highlights show an athlete who can slip off his blocks, and with an expert coach, he should develop. Hope Bray is up to the task. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
I wouldn't say we took him from Oregon State... I'd say Bray/Riley are merely honoring THEIR commitment to him as they move to Nebraska. What other commitments did Oregon State have? They have a nice TE and S... After that it's pretty bare id say.ASU and USC already talking to the TEThat's enough reason for me to go after him too 1 Quote Link to comment
Stumpy1
I like how he played with his hand down. He could be a good 3rd down specialist like Newby. Quote Link to comment
StPaulHusker
He runs a 4.75 to 4.8 forty yard dash.... He's going to have to get faster if he wants to play. As thin as we are at LB, he just needs to show up if he wants to.play. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
There were exactly 10 LBs faster than 4.7 at the combine last year. But don't let reality get in the way. 1 Quote Link to comment

Mavric
Santos may have been reported to have run a 4.6. If you believe HS reported 40 times, I've got a recruiting web site for you to subscribe to... 1 Quote Link to comment
strigori
Worry about football speed and not "in shorts" speed. They are not always the same thing. Quote Link to comment
SouthLincoln Husker
I would not say they are slow, they just do not react to the play fast enough. Totally different Quote Link to comment

Army_Allen
Ran a 4.94 in a timed run at a 247 camp. Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
Which is a 4.7 handheld which most are. And I bet with 1 lesson with a speed coach he could have it down .1 at least easy. Give me football speed overy track speed in a LB'er anyday. Quote Link to comment
Army_Allen
There are many linemen that run electonically timed 5 second fourties. Im sorry but that's slow. Maybe he makes up for it with pass and run recognition but that is slow for his position. Quote Link to comment

Maybe he makes up for it with pass and run recognition but that is slow for his position. There were 5 in the whole NFL combine last year....and that is as 22-23 year old men. Not as a 17 year old kid. I agree it is not the ideal speed, but obviously the coaches like something in him. Quote Link to comment
Warrior10
Finally had the chance to watch his film. It was all at DE so hard to gauge the next level, but here's what I saw: Pros: great first step, good leverage for his size, athletic/long/lean. Con: Seemed to shoot inside the OT on a lot of the runs, that can hurt you at the next level. Film was actually pretty impressive, more so then I thought it would be. Welcome Tyrin!
