f***in fan
What will be the number of coaches on the old staff be to be hired by a Power 5 Conf team? It stands at 1, will it get to 2? Quote Link to comment
NUance
Pelini didn't have much incentive to grab a commensurate job. Thanks to our buyout money, he can just sit back at that crappy little rustbelt FCS school and collect a cool $1.8 million per year. But it will be telling if our assistants can't hook up with power five conf jobs. It'll be a sad statement indeed. Quote Link to comment

I assume after Minnesota, Pelini knew it looked sucky for him. He seemed defeated after Iowa. I believe he knew real well he had pooped in his bed. Why would a sane head coach want him to be an assistant?? Quote Link to comment
strigori
The guys running our O-Line going to UNLV to work under a head coach moving up from a high school says something about our line coaching. 2 Quote Link to comment

ladyhawke
Since head coaches usually take some of their assistants it will be interesting to see who will end up at YSU. Quote Link to comment

If any full time coaches go that would be really, really bad. YSU assistants are looking at about $50k. Some of the grad assistants and interns would make sense, anyone else....well lets just say that would be absolute proof positive they should never have been on this campus. Quote Link to comment

swmohusker
Kaz, Fisher should land on there feet somewhere big. Proof is on the tape for those two. In Brown's case it is probably up to him what he wants to do at this point in his career. Quote Link to comment

It's incredibly rare that a coach goes from $3.1 million to $350k in salary. Pelini did, thanks to our buyout money. And because he made such an ass of himself that he'd have a tough time finding a comparable job. As for our (former) assistant coaches, I doubt if any could afford to follow Pelini. They would be making a fraction of the money at YSU that they pulled in at NU. I'm guessing that no one follows him. And after a couple years in a small market FCS sh#t-hole like YSU Pelini might realize that he had it made at Nebraska and didn't appreciate all the resources at his disposal. Quote Link to comment
