tschu
...But put it this way, I will not be unhappy when Perlman is no longer Chancellor of this great university. 3 Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
I actually do understand the sentiment that Eichorst was hired by Perlman specifically to get rid of Bo. I buy that. Now, Pelini deserved it and deserved to be gone I wanted him gone, and am very glad that he is gone.. But put it this way, I will not be unhappy when Perlman is no longer Chancellor of this great university. Isn't our great university excelling overall under Harvey? Quote Link to comment
Eric the Red
I believe Perlman is doing a fine job. Less is always more, now more than ever with social media. Perlman and any chancellor has a huge job, with athletics secondary. That's why they hire AD's. 1 Quote Link to comment

Bowfin
Maintaining AAU accreditation and watching traveling expenses are two things that comprise part of a chancellor's job outside of athletics... ...and I think the State Auditor Mike Foley will be talking to Perlman about the second one here shortly: The Nebraska State Auditor’s office is taking the University of Nebraska to task for some travel reimbursements it says include first-class flights, overpayments for meals and expensive oceanfront hotel rooms. Not to mention the vice Chancellor of UNMC said that the tickets were paid with private funds. Quote Link to comment
Hedley Lamarr
Also drop the AAU shtick we all know that with our agriculture and UNMC being seperate from UNL it hurt us severely in maintaining our membership. Not to mention the membership doesn't really offer anything other than saying you are in the AAU. 1 Quote Link to comment

Find it funny that people were saying if this hire fails Perlman should lose his job haha. Our university has seen unprecedented growth academically with him at the helm. That is priority #1 by far and is why we and other universities hire athletic directors. All the chancellor cares about is that we are represented well. A loudmouth dumbass as your figurehead is good for no business or university 2 Quote Link to comment

And we've never known an elected public official to try and make a name for himself at the expense of the ivory tower academic elitists... Such a thing would NEVER happen. Especially not in a red state. 2 Quote Link to comment
zoogs
My only complaint with Perlman is that he's not so great at being hip. His take on the Harlem Shake was pretty lame and hopefully he never tweets "#yolo" ever again. Aside from that? Seems to be doing a great job. Football is Eichorst's business now and he seems to be a guy that will maintain values and excellence in all our progrums. Quote Link to comment

Moiraine
Didnt Nebraska lose AAU membership under Perlman? It did. By 2 votes. If 42 had voted against Nebraska instead of 44, we'd still be in it. And when people talk about agricultural research not being counted, and UNMC not being counted, those aren't just lame excuses. They are very valid. Quote Link to comment
