Elf
You can delete the inner quotes manually. Easiest to do this by clicking the light switch button to turn off formatting in the post editor (I almost always leave it off, the rich editor is pretty poor). Wut? Honestly, this doesn't make any sense to me. You mention two different editors, I didn't even know there was ONE here and a button that I can't find. Quote Link to comment
Elf
Wut? Didn't work....and no clue how to proceed...Just manually delete anything you don't want in the quoted stuff I honestly don't know how. If I high light the text and right click to delete, it leaves an empty post. And I don't see any other way to delete a post. I'm using Google Chrome, I don't know if that makes a difference. This way of doing it manually is a real pain in the ass on my IPad though, that's why I don't do it much. Quote Link to comment

If you delete the username in the quote box, it deletes the "empty post" as well. 1 Quote Link to comment

Here's a lesson on how to delete out portions of a quote: LINK Quote Link to comment

It's in the upper right left, next to your avatar when you are creating a post. Toggling this lightswitch let's you go back and forth between the text format and the image format of the post you are creating. It's easier to delete nested quotes in the text format. Then if you want to see what it looks like you can toggle back to the image format. edit: Uh, yeah. I meant my other right. Elf
I've posted on quite a few message boards in my day and own one myself. I don't know why anyone would turn on quoting more than one post at a time due to reasons like why this particular thread exists in the first place. I'm trying to figure out what to delete in a multi quoted post where the author I am quoting has responded to me (and quoted multiple authors in the process) and he has also responded to another poster in the same post while quoting multiple posters. It's easy to see what I don't want to quote before I hit the light switch but after that, it's just one big mess. I'm going to forget about editing out the quotes I don't want in that post. It just isn't worth the time and hassle. Quote Link to comment
Elf
Lol I fekked this one up so bad. http://www.huskerboard.com/index.php?/topic/73088-avery-moss-updates/page-5&do=findComment&comment=1501147 I give up. Message board software shouldn't be this retarded. Quote Link to comment
zoogs
I give up. Message board software shouldn't be this retarded. I agree. Actually, we can turn off quoting embedded quotes. Presumably that means when you hit the quote button, only the immediate message will be quoted. We've always prior to this just had limits on the # of quotes per post, but that might be something to explore if it doesn't hinder people too much. People who want to include multiple levels of quotes though, would have to do it manually. Quote Link to comment
