Guy Chamberlin
That's a pretty soft landing. I know I used a similar opportunity to defend Tim Beck's tenure at Nebraska. That's not gonna happen here. By all accounts a decent guy, though. Absolutely no problem wishing him good luck. 3 Quote Link to comment
sd'sker
i say good luck. hopefully it is a healthier environment for him to flourish in. 1 Quote Link to comment
Elf
DId the Tarheels consult Tom Osborne as a reference before hiring him? 1 Quote Link to comment
BigRedBuster
Good Luck. Have no problem hoping him the best. Problem is, this should have been a stop or position held BEFORE he attempted to be a DC. But...hey....what is in the past is in the past. Hope he lives a long and successful life as long as he isn't coaching against Nebraska. Quote Link to comment
Husker-Joe
Two years ago, we made the trip from TN to Lincoln for a game. We arrived Friday evening and walked around the stadium getting pictures with the statues, etc. Then, we saw JP walking across the street. He was talking on the phone; so I told my 2 daughters to turn around and smile, and I would take a pic as he walked behind them. JP saw what I was doing, put the person on the phone on hold, came over and posed for a picture, told us GBR, and then continued walking. Definitely struck me as a decent man. I wish him well. He is a young coach and could really grow under a different leader. 2 Quote Link to comment

Stumpy1
I think he will do well as a DB coach. Bo specialized in Dbs and I am sure Pap learned some stuff from him. Wish him and his family good luck. Quote Link to comment
darkhorse85
Pap. DB. Too many childish jokes to be made here. Well, probably just the two. 1 Quote Link to comment
MoHuskerBlackshirt
As JP went from DE coach to DL coach and finally to DC, he never showed the ability to improve the results. So, I suspect he will be able to coach DB's with equally poor results. I think he may have been best suited as ST coach. Quote Link to comment
shyndy
what is most interesting to me at this point, is anyone from Bo's staff going to go with him to Yougstown? Maybe its the lower salaries but nobody seems to be chomping at the bit to follow him this time. Quote Link to comment
Treand3
Great landing spot for him. Gets a chance to work back to a DC position and gets to recruit that mid Atlantic region. Quote Link to comment
