The "Thank you very much for all the hard work, zoogies!" thread

Recommended Posts

Add HuskerBoard to the long list of prestigious websites that have been hacked or attacked by malware. We are not too secure to avoid hacking (nobody is), nor too small to fly under the radar of the haxxorz anymore. So inevitably it had to happen, and someone had to fix it.

Enter zoogs. While we've all been kicking our heels waiting for the party to begin again, zoogs has been working tirelessly to diagnose the problem, fix it, and then deal with all the behind the scenes stuff like working with our host site for better security, convincing Google & sundry other web filter services that we're no longer a hacked site, etc. I don't even know what all went on. I only saw a few of the emails, but I know no stone went unturned.

Everyone owes zoogs a huge round of applause for fixing this. Lots of people make this site work. Some you see every day, some you see but don't know what they do. Suffice it to say, zoogs works A LOT behind the scenes around here, making this place run as smoothly as it does.

He'll downplay this. He'll say he doesn't do much, or that there's no reason for an "atta boy." But don't listen to that. Tell him thank you anyway.

Thanks guys. Also big thanks to AR & slacker. AR won't admit it naturally, but he was just as on top of this thing from the get, as he is always for this site, and would've been running the software upgrade himself (like all of the other times!) had the site not unexpectedly gone down completely yesterday.

And poor slacker, who isn't really around anymore but took a lot of time out to deal with the (deluge is an understatement) of emails over the past few days as he put us in contact with all the right people. Without which we'd be nowhere.

Oh well, crisis averted :D
