With the win, the Hawkeyes snapped a two-game losing streak, as they had lost at Northwestern and against Minnesota. Iowa has been up and down in Big Ten play, posting wins at Ohio State and Michigan, but has gone 3-5 in its last eight contests. The Hawkeyes brought back three starters and 10 lettermen for Head Coach Fran McCaffery, who is in his fifth season at Iowa after serving stints at Lehigh, UNC Greensboro and Siena. The Hawkeyes went 20-13 before losing to Tennessee in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. The Hawkeyes are one of the deeper teams in the Big Ten as nine players average at least 10 minutes per game while no player averages 30 minutes per contest. Iowa features six players who average at least 7.0 points per game. Senior forward Aaron White leads Iowa in both scoring (14.5 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rpg) while junior forward Jarrod Uthoff chips in 12.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. The Hawkeyes are a solid defensive team, holding opponents to under 40 percent shooting and blocking 4.6 shots per game to rank third in the conference. 1 Quote Link to comment

teachercd
Not sure what to make of this one just yet... The line does nothing at all, I think it is -1. Home court goes to the Skers Coaching goes to Iowa Better players is kind of a tie I am gonna say that the Sker ruin the season for Iowa with a 65-62 win at home Quote Link to comment

Coaching goes to Nebraska ....BECAUSE..........Iowa has better players. Iowa has underperformed mightily the last few years with far better talent than the Huskers. However, regardless of how we might view these factors.......... If there is one single game ALL SEASON that I personally want to win......it is far and away this game today ! Quote Link to comment

Well...part of coaching is getting better players. So if Fran gets better players and underperforms and Miles overperforms but can't get good players, maybe it is a draw?? Quote Link to comment

Fran has brought in better players, there is no doubt about that. I think he is a better coach, not by a ton but just better. I think this game today is close (Vegas does too) but I can see NU winning and ruining Iowa's chances at a bid. Side note...I LOVE MSU today vs the Illini. Quote Link to comment
Comish
^^^^^^This..... Iowa CURRENTLY has better players and has under-preformed spectacularly in the last few seasons Our 2015 class is as good as we've had........and I credit Miles for that. I'm very bullish about the future, but TODAY is important (since they don't return to PBA next year) to spoil their season and send their psycho coach whimpering back across the Missouri. (Fran's courtside demeanor makes Bo look like TO in comparison) Quote Link to comment

(Fran's courtside demeanor makes Bo look like TO in comparison) Ha! Yeah, Fran likes losing it out there! Iowa tends to start hot and regress as the season goes on but I think a lot of that is just playing in the Big Ten...if you are not one of the top 2/3 teams in the conference you tend to end up pretty beaten down.
